Page 10A-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, May 1, 1986 Luncheon Honors Lori Thrift Miss Lori Thrift, whose wedding to Charles Martin Plyler takes place May 3 at Patterson Grove Baptist Church, was honored Satur- day at a 12 noon luncheon at the home of Mrs. J.W. Rayfield on Putnam 'Lake Road. Entertaining with Mrs. Rayfield were Mrs. Patricia Rayfield, Mrs. Debbie Rayfield and Mrs. Judy Whis- nant. Bridal Shower Honors Miss Elizabeth Bradley, bride-elect, was honored at a bridal shower Sunday after- noon, April 27th, at the home Dance Honors Couple Miss Laurie Jenkins of Kings Mountain, and Frank Bell, whose wedding takes place June 28th at First Lutheran Church of Greensboro, were honored Friday, April 18th, at a spring dance at Dutch Club in Lex- ington. Entertaining together were Becky and Donald Surratt, Gerri and Donald Brinkley, Helen and Jaby Williams, Nee and Burke Bridges, Lin- da and Eddie Childers, Nan- cy and Ernest Perkins, Dor- cas and Sam Downs, Joann and Bill Joyce, Annette and Bill Mills, Libby and Bill Latham, Ellen Thomason and Norman Crews. Sixty guests enjoyed danc- ing and party refreshments from 7:30 until 11:30 p.m. The tables were decorated with freshly cut pink and white azaleas from Becky and Donald Surratt’s yard. The flowers were arranged in large brandy snifters. Miss Jenkins was presented a pink carnation crsage with lily-of-the-valley ‘to wear with her cocktail dress. The hosts took the occasion to present the engaged pair with a decorator brass seashell set. Spesial guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ratchford, aunt and uncle of the bride- elect; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Heinrich, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brinkley, and Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Armentrout, aunts and uncles of the bridegroom- to-be. Saturday Luncheon Given For Alison Mrs. Sam Dudley and Mrs. Paul Bell entertained together Saturday at a bridal luncheon at the Dudley home honoring Miss Alison Cham- pion, bride-ele_: The 12 guests .ound their Blac at tables set up on the ~ a which were decorated in .ae wedding color of lilac. A cold plate was enjoyed by each guest followed by the cutting of a beautifully decorated bridal cake fo: dessert. : The hostesses presented the bride-to-be with a silk floral arrangement and Miss Champion took the occasion to present her gifts to her bridal attendants. Special guests included Mrs. Howard Champion, mother of the bride-elect, and Mrs. E.W. Carswell, mother of the bridegroom-to-be. Invitations Are Issued Mr. and Mrs. James ~ Joseph Dickey of Kings Mountain have issued wed- ding invitations to friends and relatives to attend the wedding of their daughter, Robin Susan, and Hoyt Walter Shore, Jr. of .Charlotte, on Sat., May 24th, at2 p.m. : The ceremony will take place at Belk Chapel of Queens College in Charlotte. The bride-elect’s parents will host the reception after the ceremony at Myers Park Country Club. Upon her arrival the bride- elect was presented a cor- sage of daisies to wear with her party dress. The hostesses also took the occasion to present Miss Thrift a monogrammed set of crystal tea glasses and tea pitcher. The Rayfield home was beautifully decorated in the wedding colors of peach and white. An arrangement of of Mrs. James Lybrand on Merrimont Avenue. Hostesses were Miss Jayne Lybrand, a bridesmaid, Mrs. James Lybrand, Mrs. Cliff Cunningham and Mrs. James Carroll. Miss Bradley wore a blue silk dress and received a yellow rose corsage from the hostesses. : The refreshment table was covered with a lace cloth. A punch bowl surrounded by spring flowers and silver trays of refreshments graced the table. Beautiful pink daisies tinted peach color graced the dining table and card tables from which guests found their places. As guests arrived, they were served peach punch on the porch. Present as special guests were Mrs. J.T. Thrift, mother of the bride-elect; Mrs. Richard Plyler, mother of the prospective bridegroom and Mrs. Monroe Curry, grand- mother of the bride-elect. Elizabeth flowers decorated the Lybrand home. Special guests were Mrs. Joan Bradley, mother, Miss Jennifer Bradley, sister, and Mrs. Robert L. Bradley, Sr., grandmother of the bride- elect, Miss Kathy Angle of Charlotte and Sylvia Holmes of Lenoir. Forty guests showered Miss Bradley with gifts for her new home.
