Thrift of Lawndale, N.C., completed the Primary Leadership Development Course con- ducted by the Office of the Adjutant General and the 3288th U.S. Army Reserve School at the North Carolina Military Academy in Asheville, N.C. The course consisted of two weeks of training in many aras, such as, Training to Lead, Land Navigation, Com- munication Procedures, Ar- tillery Fire Adjustment, Combat Techniques and Combat Patrolling. Sergeant Thrift is a member of Company B(-), : 505th Engineer Battalion of the N.C. Army National Cuan in Kings Mountain, Sergeant Thrift and his wife, Vicki, reside in Lawndale. ; Sergeant Thrift is i employed by Cleveland Mills Company as a Machinist in Lawndale. SGT. HAROLD THRIFT Kenneth Dellinger Promoted To Second Lieutenant Cadet Kenneth Lewis Dell- inger, Jr. was promoted to the rank of 2nd lieutenant at graduation exercises held May 25th at Camden Militar; Academy, Camden, Sout Carolina. ,dHe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. Lewis Dellinger of Kings Mountain, N.C. Colonel Lanning P. Risher, Headmaster, presented diplomas to 34 graduating seniors. Awards and medals for ' excellence were presented by the Dean of Stu- dent Activities, Lieutenant Colonel James T. Dallas. Reel In Training Marine Sgt. Stephen G. Reel, son of Alvin R. and Carolyn K. Reel of Route 3, Bessemer City, is currently on an amphibious training The training will include over 4,500 Marines and sailors onboard five ships. Reel is currently stationed with 24th Marine Amphibious Unit, homebased at Camp Le- jeune, N.C. : He is a 1980 graduate of Bessemer City High School, Bessemer City. Bus Driver Classes Set There will be a bus driver’s training class July 8-9 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day at Malcolm Brown Auditorium on the campus of Shelby High School.
