throughout the nation and
about 40 foreign countries
and territories. Dr. Jones
became president of BJU in
1971.
Like his father and grand-
father, but with his own
distinctive style, Dr. Jones is
a forthright, foreceful
preacher of the Word of God.
More requests for meetings
come in than the able fun-
damentalist minister is able
to. fill with his heavy and
varied schedule of duties.
In addition to preaching to
all parts of the world, he has
conducted tours to the Holy
Land and Europe. He has
acted the lead roles in many
Shakespearean plays produc-
ed by the BJU Classic
Players, and has had major
parts in several Unusual
Films productions, among
them them full-length,
award-winning Christian
film, “Wine of Morning’’,
“Red Runs the River’, and
“Flame in the Wind.”
Well known for his
outspoken religious and
ethical convictions, Dr.Jones
was selected to represent na-
tionally the view of fun
damentalist Christians on
educational television.

The Evangelical Organization is now 45-years old. It is
healthy, vigorous, and growing. The National Association of
Evangelicals is composed of 46,000 churches from 70
denominations and includes more than 200 other organiza-
tions. The NAE serves about 15 million evangelicals. There
are many evangelical churches and para-church organiza-
tions who look to the NAE for leadership.
The movement will remain strong because it is a local
church centered organization. True, this has been a painful
time for evangelicals. Stories about fund raisin, seamy sex-
ual sins, and hush money have become front-page news, tain-
ting religious broadcasting in general through guilt by
association. It should be remembered that these shameful
events include less than a half dozen highly visable religious
personalities. It is time these questionable leaders identified
as evengelicals become accountable and responsible or
disassociate their ministry from the evangelical movement.
The NAE includes many of the great organizations of our
day, such as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accoun-
tability, National Religious Broadcasters, American Bible
Society, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Prison
Fellowship, World Vision,
ministries.
and many other credible
When you speak of Evangelicals, you are talking about a
movement of Bible believing Christians. They represent
many churches and organizations; and have become a
powerful force in our nation. Even in non-member churches,
there are large groups of people who proudly identify with
evangelical movement of today.
