Chad Watson, son of Jim
and Becky Watson of Cher-
ryville, celebrated his first
birthday Sept. 27.
A clown birthday cake was
cut and served at a party at
his home with friends and
relatives.
Chad is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Roscoe Watson of
Columbus, N.C. and Lola
Morrow and Carvel Morrow,
both of Kings Mountain.
Great-grandparents are Mrs.
Marie Harmon, and Mrs.
Nola Morrow, both of Kings
Mountain, and Mrs. Odessa
Thompson of Rutherfordton.
Donia (Beth) Goforth
celebrated her first birthday
Saturday with a Care Bear
birthday party. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Danny Goforth.
Grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Darvin Moss and Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Goforth, all of
Kings Mountian. Great-
grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Smith and
Mrs. Myrtle Childers, all of
Kings Mountain.
Also attending the party
were Kim and Sandy Moss,
Beth’s aunt and uncle, Trent
and Shannon; brother and
sister of Beth; other friends
and relatives.

It’s A Girl For Edwards’
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Ed-
wards announce the birth of
their daughter, Emily Elise
Edwards, Aug. 13, Cleveland
Memorial Hospital, Shelby.
She weighed six pounds, nine
and one-half ounces.

Celebrates
Birthday
Tina Marie Sprouse
celebrated her first birthday
on Sept. 27. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ar-
thur T. Sprouse of Grover. :
A birthday dinner at the
home of her grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cobb of
Kings Mountain, was held
and a decorated birthday
cake was cut and served to
family members.
Tina is also the grand-
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Alburney McKeehan of Kings
Mountain.
KM Man
Is Missing
Jerry (Dinky) Peterson, 20,
of the Oak Grove Communi-
ty, has been missing from
home since 4:30 p.m. on Sept.
14th.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Peterson, said he was
last seen by them in their
driveway about 4:30 p.m.
Peterson, who notified the
Cleveland County Sheriff’s
Department and the Kings
Mountain Police Depart-
ment, said young Peterson
got a ride to Four Points
Grocery with two friends.
The two friends let the young
man out of their car at the
grocery store, they have told
law enforcement officials.
Dinky Peterson is six feet
tall, weighs 147-150 pounds,
and has red hair. His father
says the young man has
always called his mother
when he planned to be away
overnight. He is unemployed.
Peterson says his son has
not been in contact with any
family member, his girl
friend, or with relatives since
Sept. 14th.
Persons with any informa-
tion about Peterson or who
may have seen him after 4:30
