OBITUARIES
ORVILLE B. SELLERS
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Orville
B. Sellers, 73, lifelong resident of
Kings Mountain, died Tuesday,
July 9, 2008 at White Oak Manor,
Kings Mountain.
A native of Cleveland County,
he was the son of the late James
Oscar and Bernice Wylie Sellers.
He was a charter member of
Eastside Baptist Church, Kings
Mountain.
He is survived by numerous
cousins and the Eastside Baptist
Church Family.
The funeral service was con-
ducted by Rev. Dan Wallace at 11
a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Ollie
Harris Memorial Chapel.
Interment was at Mountain Rest
Cemetery.

RUBY DIXON TURNER
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Ruby
Dixon Turner, 77, former resident
of Kings Mountain, died
Thursday, July 10, 2008 at
Century Care, Shelby.
She was born in Gaston
County, daughter
of the late Ray
Dixon and
Margaret
Dixon
Campbell.
She was also
predeceased
by husband of
48 years, the
late James “Jim”
Turner. She was a devoted home-
maker, a former employee of
Kings Mountain District Schools
at Bethware Elementary and a
biscuit maker at Hardee's. She
was a faithful member of First
Baptist Church, Kings Mountain,
where she taught beginners and
primaries. She was also a former
member of Kerr Memorial
Baptist Church, Concord.
She is survived by daughters,
Vickie Gibson and husband
Wayne of Pickens, SC, Joe
Tesseneer of Kings Mountain;
son, Jimmy Turner and wife Joy
of Boiling Springs; seven grand-
children, Tyler and Janna Gibson,
Sabrina Glenn and husband Lee,
Brian Putnam, and wife LeeAnn,
Alicia, Jordon and Alexis Turner;
and, two great grandchildren
Haley Glenn and Austin
Putmam:
The funeral was conducted by
the Rev. Dr. Chip Sloan at 3 p.m.
Sunday, July 13, 2008 at First
Baptist Church, Kings Mountain.
Interment was at Mountain Rest
Cemetery.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Frank
Suddreth, 51, of 1127 Phifer
Road, died July 11, 2008 at his
home. He was born in
Mecklenburg County, was an
employee of Direct Power, Inc. in
Stanley, and was a member of the
Moose Lodge in Gastonia.
He is survived by his parents,
Frank and Mary Griffith
Suddreth of Charlotte; daugh-
ters, Jennifer Suddreth

of Winston-Salem, Brandi
Suddreth Rogers and husband
Johnny of Dallas; brothers, Tom
Suddreth and Mike Suddreth

Christy Braswell and her chil-

Katelyn Braswell; and grandchil-
dren, Jonah, Jana and Carmen.

2008 at Carolinas Medical Center

and Sarah Ertzberger.
She was wife of

Sr. She was

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Fred G.
Hamrick, 89, of 7-B Battleforest
Apartments, went to be with the
Lord on July 12, 2008 at White
Oak Manor.
He was born in Cleveland
County, son of the late Guthrie
and Dora Allen Hamrick. He
was the husband of Doris Rhea
“Dot” Hamrick. He was also pre-
deceased by brothers,
George Hamrick
and Frank
Hamrick; and
sister, Mary
Spearman.
He was an
active mem-
ber of First
Presbyterian
Church, Kings
Mountain. He
served in the United States Army
during World War II. He was a
member of the World War II
Veterans of Kings Mountain.
He is survived by son, Edwin
“Eddie” Hamrick and wife
Donna of Kings Mountain;
daughter, Joni Hamrick of Kings
. Mountain; sister, Sarah “Sis”
Jones of Kings Mountain; two
grandchildren, Jennifer Stacey
and husband Dallas of Kings
Mountain and Jon-Michael
Hamrick of Kings Mountain; and
great grandchild, Amanda
Stacey.

EVELYN BONDS WARE
KANNAPOLIS - Frances
Evelyn Bonds Ware, of
Kannapolis, went to be with the
Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008
after several years of declining
health.
She was born October 8, 1921
in Cabarrus County, N.C, the
daughter of the late Edgar A.
Bonds and Molly Corl Bonds.
She had lived in
Kannapolis all
her life until
2001 when
she moved to
Crouse to be
near her chil-
dren. She was
Cannon High
School and worked
for Cannon Mills Cotton Dept.
for many years. Evelyn never
met a stranger and was always
kind to everyone she knew. She
was a life-long Democrat who
worked tirelessly for John E
Kennedy's campaign
She collected cardinals and
loved to feed birds and watch
them. Her main loves were her
love for God and her family.
Thanks to the people at Lincoln
Nursing Center for the special
care given to her while she was
there. A special thanks to Phillip
Hefner. Also thanks to Dr
Okafor for his smile and deep
caring attitude. Those who met
her in Heaven in addition to her
parents include: her husband,
Mark Rudisill Ware; brothers,

Mechanicsville, VA; Mark
Rudisill Ware III and wife, Laura
of Nashville, TN, Dana Logan
Ware of Crouse, and Blake Ware
of Lincolnton.
Her great-grandchildren
include Matthew Ridder and
Evan Ridder of Mechanicsville,
VA, Andrew Melton Black and
Marion Tracy Black of Gastonia,
and Annslee Ware of Nashville,
TN. Also surviving are several
nieces and nephews.
She was a life-long member of
Trinity United Methodist Church
in Kannapolis, NC where a cele-
bration of her life was conducted
by the Revs. Judith White and
Jerry Evans at 2 p.m. Monday,
July 14, 2008. Burial was at
Carolina Memorial Park,
Kannapolis. Evelyn was. pre-
cious.
