Page 2A B OBITUARIES Ada Putnam Burton KINGS MOUNTAIN - Ada Putnam Burton, age 94, resident of Kings Mountain, NC went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2015 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain NC. She was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late E. W. Put- nam and Bessie Jackson Putnam. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie J. Burton; daughter, Patricia Ray- field; son-in-law, Kenneth Rayfield; grandchildren, David Rayfield and Brian Rayfield, 5 sisters, Ruby Bridges, Polly Gamble, Alberta Strickland, Helen Huff, Janice Keeter and 1 brother, Wade Putnam. Mrs. Burton was retired from Spectrum Yarns and worked as a caregiver. She loved her Lord and was an active member of Patter- son Grove Baptist Church, she loved her church and church family and they all loved her. She was a lov- ing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother-who had an amazing love for her entire family and loved to dance, sing, and laugh. She never met a stranger. A memorial service was held at Patterson Grove Baptist Church on Satur- day, May 30, at 4 p.m., with Rev. Tim Hendrick officiating. Visitation was from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30, prior to the service in the Family Life Center of Patterson Grove Baptist Church. Interment is at Patter- son Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Moun- tain, North Carolina. Lake Thomas “Tommy” Bolin KINGS MOUNTAIN - Lake Thomas “Tommy” Bolin, 64, resident of Kings Mountain, NC died May 26,2015 at Carolinas Med- ical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Cherokee Co, SC to the late Louise Hannon and Lake Thomas Bolin, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Kevin Allen. Mr. ‘Bolin was an electrician and retired from Recore Electric, Gastonia, NC. He served in the United States Marines from 1969 — 1971. A memorial service was held at Ollie Harris Memo- rial Chapel on Saturday, May 30, at 3 p.m., with Pastor Ann Rogers offici- ating. Capt.Roger “Dale” Gantt former KM resident SACRAMENTO, CALIF - Captain Roger “Dale” Gantt, 67, a resident of Sac- ramento, California and for- merly of Kings Mountain, passed away April 19, 2015 EE in Califor- nia. He was born in Cleveland County on May 2, 1947 © to the late Issac and Alma Miller Gantt. He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School. Mr. Gantt served in the United States Air Force where he completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force he moved to Sac- ramento, California where he was employed by the Sacra- mento Fire Department and became Captain. Surviving are his brother, Steve Gantt and wife, Kathy, of Kernersville, NC; his son, Robert Gantt of Oklahoma; his daughter, Rachelle Brad- ley and husband, Mike, Vir- ginia Beach,Va.; his wife, Jeanine Gantt of Sacramento and grandsons, Conner and Brandon Bradley. The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Ollie Harris Memo- rial Chapel at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain, NC. Rev. Timmy Whitaker will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-1:45 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home.
