The couple pledged vowe ot the double-ring ceremony before the Rev. James Sanders, uncle of the bridegroom. Mrs. Larry Wood was organist for the program of wedding music and vocal selections were by Miss candy Brackett who sang "The Shadow of Tour Smile” before the ceremony and "Wedding Prayer" as the benedic tion. Organ prelude Included "Tou Light Up My Life", "We’ve Only Just Begun", "More”, "Feelings”, "April Love”, "Because", "I Love You Truly", “I’U Never Stop Loving You", "Oh Promise Me", and "Wonderful One”. The processional was "Wed ding March” from "Lohengrin" by Wagner and the recesslonsLl was Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" from “A Mid summer Night’s Dream." The altsu: of the church was banked with greenery and arranged with spiral candelabra. Baskets of summer flowers were at either side of the sdtar and a Unity candle centered the setting which the couple lighted together after exchanging pledges and lings. Ray Howell, Sr. escorted his daughter to the sUtar and gave her In marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a formal design of white Chantilly lace styled with square neckline, straight, lace sleeves and empire waistline. The gown was elegantly fashioned with a full, lace CHiapel train. Matching Chantilly lace trimmed her fingertip veil which was attached to a lace-covered Juliet headpiece, and she carried a nosegay of yellow Sweetheart roses, white pompon chrysan themums and silk coral forget-me-nots with Sprlngerel fern and gypsophlUa. Miss Cynthia Johnson attended the bride as maid of tumor aiul bridesmaids were Mrs. Kim Howell of Kings Mountain, slstsr-ln- law of the bride; Mrs. Becky Sanders of Kings Mbuntsdn, sister-ln-law of the bridegroom, Miss Cathy Barnette, Miss Sharon Buchanan, and Mrs. Sandy Jackson Hitters of Kings Mountain. Miss Jonl Wright of Kings Mountain presided at the register. All the attendants wore long (ormals of apricot print sUesta styled with empire waistlines and ruffled draped backs. The dresses had full skirts. They carried nosegays of yelkm sweetheart roses, brotise pompons, silk coral forget-me-iMts, sprlngerel tsm and gyps with apiicot bows, the bride’s table held a three- tier wedding cake decorated with apricot roses. Apiicot punch was served from a crystal bowl at one end and crystal appointments held fsmcy sandwiches, cheese straws, mints and sausage balls. Assisting In serving the SO guests were Mrs. Shirley Austin, Mrs. Shirley White and Mrs. Betty Hampton. Couple United In Asheville .Wedding MRS. GRADY KEEVBR HOWARD, JR. (Linda Susan Homowskl) All Souls Parrish of AahevlUe was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Miss Linda Susan Homowskl of Asheville and Dr. Grady Keever Howard, Jr. of Kings Mountain. The couple pledged their vows before Father Rick Dennis. Dr. Schyler Robinson of Warren Wilson College, was organist for the progrsun of nuptial music and Steve Floros was trumpeter. The processional march was Purcell’s ’’Trumpet Voluntary” and the recessional was to "Allegro” from "Suite Gothlque” by Boellman. The altar of the church was suranged with white ■lapdragona, daisies, mini carnations. Queen Anne's lace, fugll mums and background greenery. Dr. Kenneth Homowskl and Jerome Homowskl escorted their sister to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a formal design of Can dlelight chiffon designed with square neckline, long sleeves and flowing skirt enhanced by a chapel length train trimmed in Belgium heirloom lace. A full-length mantilla was draped from a camelot cap embellished with pearls and sequins and trimmed with matching Belgium lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, eucharls lilies, and lilles- of-the-valley with green foliage. Mrs. Robert Greer Johnson of Asheville was the bride’s matron of honor and bridesmaid was Mrs. Kenneth Homowskl of Asheville, sister-ln-law of the bride. Marg Graves, of Burlington, niece of the bridegroom, was (lower girl. The three attendants wore long gowns of summer floral print enhanced by pink ribbon sashes at the waistlines. They carried cascade bouquets of pink French feathered car nations with matching ribbons. ’The (lower girl carried a basket of rose petals. Grady Keever Howard of Kings Mountain was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Louis Sabettl of Kings Mountsdn, cousin of the bridegroom; Dr. Charles Reed of Charlotte, Jon Simonson of Haddonfleld, New Jersey and David Hord of China Grove. Matthew Murphy of Burlington, nephew of the bridegroom. was rlngbearer. The pink and white theme of the wedding was beautifully featured In decorative details at the reception which followed the ceremony In the en- cloaed Courtyard of All Souls Parish. White geraniums, ferns and baskets of white petunias provided a setting for the bride’s table from which cake and refreshments were served. Hosting the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Joe Britt, Dr. and Mrs. Bruce J. Franz, Me. and Mrs. Wilkes Price and Dr. and Mrs. Walter Watts. After the reception, the bridal couple left for a wedding trip. For foavellng, the new Mrs. Howard chose a white nmdress with miniature heart buttons and the corsage from her bridal bouquet. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Marcel Jerome Homowskl of Asheville, the bride attended Stratford College In Danville, Va., the University of North Carolina at Asheville and Blanton’s Junior College In Interior Design. She was presented to the Rhododendron Royal Brigade of Guards and Is a member of the Junior League of Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Keever Howard, Sr. of Kings Mountain are parents of the bridegroom who Is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the UNC School of Denlstry, where he was a member of PI Kappa Alpha social fraternity and Psl Omega Dental Fraternity. ’The bride Is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitfield Gibson of Swannanoa.
