ELLIS GROVER — Dr. and Mrs. Lyle Gaffney Ellis died Monday only a few hours apart. Dr. Ellis, who was a patient In^a Rocky Mount nursing home, died Monday at 9:60 a.m. His wife, Yarda Nelson Ellis, also In declining health, a patient In the nursing home, had not been told of her husband’s death when she died Monday at 10:46 p.m. In Rocky Mount. Graveside services for Dr. Ellis, 84, and Mrs. Ellis, 86, will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from Grover Cemetery. Dr. Stephen M. Huntley will officiate at the rites. Dr. Ellis was a graduate of Wake Forest University and Jefferson Medical College In Philadelphia. He had retired as medical director of Traveler's Life Insurance Co. of Hartford, Conn. He was son of the late John Albert and Elizabeth Herndon Ellis. Surviving Dr. Ellis are a brother, R. Lawdls EUls of Splndale; and three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Hambrlghtof Grover, Mrs. Randolph Diggers of Patterson Springs and Mrs. J.P. Grumpier of Rocky Mount. If a Wrent is dissatisfied with the ruling of the official, he may wish to discuss the decision with the deter- mlng official on an In formal basis. If he wishes to make a formal appeal, he pnay make a request either orally or In writing to Martha H. Wright, 600 W. Parker St., Kings Mountain, N.C. 28086, or 739-7666 for a hearing to appeal the decision. The policy contains an outline of the hearing procedure. If a family member becomes unemployed or If family size changes, the family should contact the school to file a new ap plication. Such changes rnnv make the children of the family eligible for reduced price meals, or free meals if the family Income falls at or below the levels shown above. In the operation of chUd feeding programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, or national origin. Each school and the office of the Superin tendent and Food Service Director has a copy of the complete policy which may be reviewed by any Interested party.
