Guy has a 16-player roster which includes only one senior, seven Juniors, three sophs and five fresh men. Even though the Mountalnettes are young, Guy expects them to be contenders In the strong SWC. The girls completed playoffs for positions on Monday afternoon. Bridget Glass, a talented Junior who played number three a year ago, captured the number one position. Kim Gladden, the only senior, will play number two, followed by Ronda Guy, Jamie Humphries, Edle Schronce and Kim Moss. Other members of the team are Wanda Witherspoon, Dana Home, Karen Ledford, Terri Plonk, Lisa Roark, Pam Baity, Tina Forbes, Martha Alexander, Sandra Cobb and Christy King. "We’ve got the makings of a real good team,” said Guy, who coached the girls to an 11-8 record and second place In the SWC last fLill. "We're looking CORRECTION The name of Richard Ellison was Inadvertently listed as Richard Edison In a sports story on a KM Jayvees game last week. We’re expecting a lot out of them In the future.” Guy la In the process of trying to schedule some more non-conference matches. The SWC season will consist of only one round with league matches play on Monday. "The decision to go with one round of conference play has left us with a scheduling problem,” Guy said. “The 4-A conferences tn the area are playing twice a week so the only conference we’re having any luck with Is the Southern District 2-A. Personally, I would rather play every confers cne opponent twice.” Guy thus far has scheduled non-league bouts with Bessemer City, CherryvUle and Myers Park. Lookingto the con ference race. Guy picks Shelby as the team to beat and figures Myers Park wlU be the toughest non conference opponent. “I’d say we have a real good chance of going into the Shelby match un defeated,” he said. "And I'd have to say we'll have a good chance of beating them.” THE SCHEDULE SEPTEMBER 8 - at B. City 10 • R-S Central 18 - at Cherryvllle 17 - Burns 20 - Myers Park 24 - at S.
