LOVELACE .. .CdUbrotM 86tb Birthday Mrs. Lovelace Is Honored On Her 86th Birthday Sunday Country western and gospel music by a blue grass band paid tribute to Mrs. Lela D. Lovelace on her 86th birthday Sunday. Mrs. Lovelace, life long resi dent of Kings Mountain, was honored by five generations of her family who gathered for a family picnic gathering at Kings Mountain E>epot Sunday after noon. Music for the occasion was presented by the Leonard McS- Larry Gill In Germany Spec. 4 Larry D. Gill, whose wife, Loretta, lives in Kings Mountain, recently was assigned as a mortar crewman with the 1st Infantry Division in Bol)l- ingen, Germany. Gill’s father, Calvin Gill, lives at 212 S. Anderson St., Morgan- ton, N.C. wain Blue Grass Band of Lat- timore. As the band played and sang favorites of Mrs. Lovelace, she was enjoying what she said was "the time of my life.” Because she is a music fan, her children and grandchildren sur prised her with the appearance of the band to play and sing for her. Widow of W.R. Lovelace, Mrs. Lovelace is the daughter of the late Callett and Mary Emily Lankford Dellinger. She has three daughters, Mrs. Edith Smith Johnson of Charlotte, Mrs. Lois Ross and Mrs. Lexie Horton, both of Kings Moun tain; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren. Mrs. Lovelace, who enjoys good health, is active in Oak Grove Baptist Church, enjoys doing her own housework and likes to walk and garden as much as possible. She uses every occa sion to “stay outdoors”, she said, and music is her hobby. Lindermans Celebrate Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Linderman of York, S.C. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 13th in York at an anniversary reception planned by their two sons and daughters-in4aw. Sharing host duties were Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Linderman of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Linderman of York, S.C. Also assisting were the host couple’s four grandchildren, John Linderman Jr., Mrs. Teresa Caldwell, Mrs. Lei^ Hord and Grant Linderman, all of Kings Mountain and their great- grandson, David Carey Caldwell Jr. The golden anniversary theme was beautifully carried out in decorative details. The four tiered anniversary cake was decorated in gold and white and was cut and served from a table appcwted with flowers and a fountain arrangement. The cake was served with punch and party pickups to 250 guests who called from 3 untU 5 p.ra. C.D. Linderman and Myrtle Few were married July 5, 1930 in South Carolina. Mr. Linder- nuui is a retired employee of Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company. They are active in York Union Baptist Church. MR AND MRS. CJ>.
