Shower Honors Miss Hullender A drop-in miscellaneous shower honoring Miss Sandra Dee Henderson, whose wedding to Richard Farris takes place in November, was given at the home of Mrs. Stonewall Jackson Sunday afternoon. Oliver, grandmother of the bride-elect. Kathryn Goforth Honored On Her Fifth Birthday KATHRYN GOFORTH Kathryn Goforth celebrated her fifth birthday on Sat., Sept. 20th, at Temple Baptist Church. Temple Baptist Church Pup peteers performed the theme of the party, “Muppets”. A BIG Bird birthday cake was cut and served with party refreshments to family and friends attending. Kathryn is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goforth and grand daughter of Commissioner and Mrs. Corbet Nicholson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goforth, all of Kings Mountain. Great- grandparents are Mrs. Alice Nicholson of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Rettie Goode of Shelby. Kathryn has a two and one- half year old brother, Tripp. Miss Elaine Hullender, whose wedding to Jeff Dixon will be an event of Oct. 25 in Kings Moun tain Baptist Church, was honored Monday evening. Sept. 15th, in the home of Mrs. Wayne Blanton with a miscellaneous •drop-in shower. Entertaining with Mrs. Blan ton were Mrs. Rick Bennett, Mrs. Eddie Carroll, Mrs. Carl Morrow, Jr., Mrs. Alex Owens, Miss Margaret Owens and Mrs. Dennisha One Year Old Dennisha Curtrice Edwards celebrated her first birthday on Friday, September 5. A small gathering of a few neighborhood children honored her. Dennisha is the daughter of Sharon D. Ed wards and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Ed wards. M. L. Williams. The bride’s table was overlaid with a natural lace tablecloth centered with a bouquet of assorted roses from the garden of Mrs. Steve Ellis. The roses were used in a large crystal cham pagne compote as the center- piece for the table. The rose theme was further carried out on a horseshoe shaped cake with “Best wishes Elaine and Jefr. Party pickups were served on crystal trays and punch was serv ed from a crystal punch bowl. Miss Hullender received her guests in the Great Room where she opened gifts from 40 guests and displayed them before the picture window on tables covered in white. A ceramic bride music box decorated the gift table. The hostesses presented Miss HiiiH|^er a xtitsage of assorted midRnare roses which she pinn ed to the shoulder of her teal blue party dress.
