Mr. Jumper was formerly associated with Smith Chevrolet Company of Gastonia for 35 years. He and his wife, the former Dorothy Hargett, and their three children reside at 1548 Westbrook Circle in Gastonia. They are active in Gastonia’s First Baptist Church. Buying Gold & Silver At The Booth Voters Needed By October 6 Cleveland County Voters Registration Committee and . Cleveland County Chapter of the NAACP are shooting for 1,000 new voters in Cleveland County by Oct. 6. The two groups will conduct a voter registration drive beginn ing Saturday, according to William Hager of Kings Moun tain, coordinator. Hager said that volunteers are needed to man the telephones and to provide transportation to the polls to register and vote. Hager said that volunteers will transport anyone who wants to register to the polls if they will contact the ^centraJ by head quarters ar Shiloh Baptist Church Monday through Satur day from K) a.m. until 6 p.m. by calling 4874108 beginning Satur day. Area citizens may also go to the polls by calling Bynum Chapel Church in Kings Moun tain at 739-2606 or the Rev. Johnny C. Brown in Patterson Springs at 482-9334. Hager said that volunteers will also transport voters to the polls on election day, Nov. 4. Tickets Available Downtown Tickets for two events on Oct. 7th are available in Celebration Headquarters, which is open dai- _ ly downtown and manned by volunteers. Prayer Breakfast tickets are $3 and Celebration Luncheon tickets are $5. The breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. on Tues., Oct. 7th, at Kings Mountain’s First Baptist Church. The Celebration luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 7th at KMSHS 0 Cafeteria. Also available to the public at Bicentennial Headquarters are commemorative shirts and caps, $5 each, a commemorative monument, $10, and a limited number of commemorative booklets, $1 each, which are ex pected to be collector items and including letters from visiting dignataries in addition to other 0 information on the Celebration. Cage Meeting Set Tonight A commercial basketball league is being formed.
