The Patriots, 2-0-1, travel to Burns today and come home MajorieBaityWins Grid Contest The Baity family of 906 Sharon Drive, Kings Mountain, is taking all our money! For the second time in five weeks, a member of that clan has claimed the $75 prize in the Herald's Pick The Winners foot- ball contest. Three weeks ago, it was Lisa Baity, a Western Carolina University student who has faithfully entered the contest ever since it began. Last week, the winner was Lisa's mother, Marjorie White Baity, who guessed 19 of the 20 winners. She expected Virginia to upset West Virginia in a col- lege game, but the Cavaliers let her down. That was fine, though, because the other 19 correct picks were more than enough for the Kings Mountain secretary to claim the money. A large number of contestants missed only two games. Mrs. Baity correctly picked Burns over South Point, Crest over Kings Mountain, Shelby over North Gaston, East Gaston over RS Central, Chase over East Rutherford, McDowell KM Netters Win Pair Of Matches Kings Mountain High's girls netters won a pair of matches during the past week to run their Southwestern 3-A Conference to 20 and their overall mark to 4-2. The Mountainettes edged the Charlotte Latin B team 54 Thursday afternoon at the KMHS courts and defeated South Point 8-1 Monday. Kings Mountain won two of the three doubles matches after dividing the singles matches to edge out the powerful Latin team. “Our number one and two girls, Bridget Glass and Kim Moss, played exceptionally good matches in both singles and doubles,” said Coach Ed Guy. The Mountainettes are scheduled to host Crest in a SWC match today and travel to RS Central Monday for a makeup match. THE RESULTS (Singles) Bridget Glass (KM) def. Carol Enson (L) 6-0, 6-2.
