Members of the club, under the direction of Mrs. Beatrice Allen, have been sewing for months in readiness for the event and offer a variety of handmade items suitable for gift giving for the whole family. Bell pulls, door decorations, Y ule wreaths, afghans, pillows, and other handmade items will be featured. Hot dogs, at 60 cents each, will be available throughout the day, in addition to baked goods, and crafts. “We invite the community to join us in this event,” said Mrs. Allen. Briggs, former ly of Kings Mountain, has been promoted to vice president of Guardian Medical Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Guardian Cor poration, headquartered in Rocky Mount. Mrs. Briggs joined Guardian in 1976 as director of facility ser vices and later became ad ministrator of Guardian Care of Rocky Mount. In 1979, she was promoted to director of ad ministrator services for the com pany’s Medical Services Divi sion. A licensed nursing home ad ministrator and registered nurse, Brrigs attended Gardner-Webb College and Gaston College. She received her associate degree in nursing from Central Piedmont in Charlotte. The daughter of Rev. and Mrs. W.F. Payne of Gastonia, Mrs. Briggs and her husband, Mike, and daughter, Stephanie, reside in Rocky Mount.
