Wednesday’s performance was the eighth for the amateur group which began weekend showings of the commemorative drama Sept. 26. The drama was presented in cooperation with the National Park Service and staged at the amphitheatre of Kings Mountain National Military Park. Jerry King, company manager, said that more than 4,000 persons saw the drama, revived this year after 29 years by the City of Kings Mountain and Limestone College and pro- The late Robert Osborne wrote the original script in I9SI and the drama was presented by the Kings Mountain Little Theatre. Thomas McIntyre, former editor of the Kings Mountain Herald, revised the script this year. King said that plans are being discussed for presentation of the outdoor drama again next year. Mr. King described the 1980 season as a “definite” success and the standing room only crowds, plus press comment, at tested to its success from the several standpoints of produc tion, acting and crowd appeal. Many persons collaborated in voluntary non-paid work to assure the success of the perfor mances which included long hours of rehearsals. Majority of the cast of ‘Then Conquer We Must” are Kings Mountain area and Limestone College area citizens and all who tried for roles on-stage or off stage were accepted by Director Hannum.
