place artist, with model, Todd Hambright, in the Southeastern
Men's Contest during the Carolina Beauty and Harvest
Festival in Charlotte. Ms. Belcher is a stylist on the staff of
Scissors & Styles on Shelby Rd. A Kings Mountain native. Ms.
Belcher is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Owens.

On Saturday
El Bethel United Methodist
Church will sponsor a breakfast
and bazaar Saturday.
Serving of bacon and eggs,
ham, grits, sausage, gray and hot
homemade biscuits will begin at
6 a.m. and continue until 10;30
a.m. in the church fellowship
hall. Plates are SI.75 and S2,
ham biscuits are 75 cents and
sausage biscuits are 50 cents.
A bazaar and bake sale will
also be featured together with a
drawing for a handmade quilt
and afghan.
All proceeds are earmarked
for church projects.
Bridges Wed
In Franklin
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Joseph
Welch of Franklin announce the
marriage of their daughter,
Claudine Faye, to Jacob Morgan
Bridges, son of Mrs. Ben Hudson
Bridges of Kings Mountain and
the late Mr. Bridges.
After the ceremony Oct. 31,
the couple are at home in
Franklin where Mr. Bridges is
soil conservationist with the
USD A Soil Conservation Ser

Workshop
For Teachers
A substitute teacher workshop
will be held on Mon., Nov. 24, at
9:30 a.m. at the Kings Mountain
District Schools office, 500 West
Parker Street.
In order to be a qualified
substitute, a person must hold a
high school diploma, participate
in a substitute teacher workshop,
and pass the Kings Mountain
Competency Test. A person
holding a valid North Carolina
teacher’s certificate is not re
quired to take the local test.
