Tyson was installed as the new pastor of Boyce Memorial ARP Church at the evening worship hour Sun day. The installation sermon was delivered by Rev. John Carson, pastor of Ebenezer ARP Church of Charlotte, and other ministers assisting on the program were Rev. Arthur Fischer, who served as moderator and who is pastor of ARP Church of Bessemer Ci ty, who asked the constitutional questions. Dr. W. Harris Blair of Kings Mountain who charged the pastor, and Charles B. Todd, elder of First ARP Church of Gastonia, who charged the con gregation. Elder John L. McGill of the local church gave the welcome and introduced program speakers. The Y outh Choir sang the anthem, “Now Let Us All Praise God And Sing." The congregation participated in a unison reading and sang “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” “How Firm A Foundation” and “Crown Him With Many Crowns.” Rev. Mr. Carson used the ser mon topic, “The Performance Bond” taking his text from Mat thew 28:1-10, 16-20. Following the installation ser vice, guests and members of the church gathered in Pressly Fellowship Hall to welcome Rev. and Mrs. Tyson and their three children, Kristin, age eight, Lisa, age five, and Heidi, age three, to the community. Receiv ing with the Tysons were guests Churches Plan Breakfast At least four Kings Mountain church congregations will hold Thanksgiving morning worship services and serve breakfast. Methodist Men of Central United Methodist Church will serve breakfast from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. in the church fellowship hall with a brief service to be held at 8 a.m. and led by Rev. Bob Boggan, pastor. Men of the Brotherhood of Kings Mountain Baptist Church will serve the traditional breakfast from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the church fellowship hall. The worship ser vice, from 8:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., will be led by Rev. Gerald Weeks, pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church. First Presbyterian Church Men of the Church will serve breakfast from 7 until 9 a.m. Thursday morning in the fellowship hail of the church. Boyce Memorial ARP Church Men of the Church will serve breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a ser vice of worship will follow at 8 a.m. Classes Set At Center The Kings Mountain Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring two Baton instruc tion classes for girls between the ages of 6 and 14 and a youth Disco Dance class for all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 12. Classes will meet Wednesday nights through December 17 and then Mondays and Wednesdays from Janury 5th through January 28th. the office of the Kings Mountain Center, Room 102. Registration will also be taken on the first day of class if space is still available. Parents must be present at registration and will be asked for a $5.00 nominal fee. For more information on these and other ongoing pro grams, call the Center at 739-3549. ★ ★★ All classes will be held at the Kings Mountain Neighborhood Facility Center (Community Center) located at 208 North Cleveland Avenue. Baton Classes for ages 6 and 7 will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in room 111 and Baton classes for ages 8 through 12 will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. also in room 111. The Disco Dance Class will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in room 202. The Kings Mountain Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring an adult Disco class to be held in room 202 of the Kings Mountain Neighborhood Facility Center (Community Center) located at 208 North Cleveland Avenue. Pre-registration will be taken Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Classes will meet Wednesday nights and run through December 17th and then Mon days and Wednesdays from January 5th through January 28th. Goforth of Kings Mountain received an award for 30 years of service without a lost time accident during a safety awards ceremony at Foote Mineral recently. White embroidered linen cloths were used on the long refreshment table. At one end of the table, punch was served from a crystal bowl which was decorated with a variety of fruit interspersed with yellow and bronze mums and colorful autumn leaves. At the opposite end of the table were two cor nucopias overflowing with the same fruits and flowers. Trays of cookies, cheese straws and decorated mints completed the table setting. A large arrangement of greens, mums and a brass candelabrum holding seven lighted yellow tapers was placed in the center of the stage. On each side of it were brass vases of bronze and yellow mums. Lighted yellow tapers were used with magnolia leaves and mums in each window of the hall.
