Sherrill, Toastmaster’s Club Is Meeting In KM Foothills Toastmaster’s Club is now meeting in Kings Moun tain on second and fourth Tuesdays for a dutch dinner meeting at Cattletown Steak House and inviting local members to attend. New officers of the club, in- steiUed Tuesday, are Vernon Perry of Gastonia, president; Bucky Sutton, past District 37 Governor, now of Greenville, S.C., Educational Vice Presi dent; Robert Hamilton of Lin- colnton. Roberts were installing officers for the program which featured prepared speeches by John Shepherd, “Simpleton Rides Again,” an icebre^er address by Gene White, who was attending his second meeting, Vernon Perry, who spoke on “Save The Children,” Joe Ogbum, who presented his 14th speech on “Are You Understo^?” and Robert Hamilton who gave the No. Two speech in the Toastmaster’s manual, “Farming In The 80’s.” The traveling gold cup went to Shepherd, of Con cord, for the test speech, a humorous address. All speeches were timed and evaluated by ex perts who checked gramamar, appearance, delivery, and even counted the “ahs.” Jean Dover of Shelby, Area 44 Governor which includes the Foothills Oub, Catawba Valley Club at Hickory, Dover Club at Shelby and Statesville Club, was a special guest. Mrs. Linda Sut ton of Greenville, recent winner of ‘Toastmaster of the Year” in her local club, was voted the test POUCE REPORT Hugh Lancaster, of 311 Maner Rd., reported to KM Police Tuesday that someone took four wired rims from his 1980 Chevrolet while the car was parked at Kings Mountain Hospital. The rims were valued at $400. FIRE ALARM Kings Mountain firemen answered a fire alarm Tuesday at 7:55 p.m. to a home on Canter bury Road. Smoke damage was reported.
