Special All Day Sunday, Jan. 11 KM Wrestlers Still Unbeaten Kings Mountain High’s wrestlers defeated South Point 46-21 Monday night to run their unbeaten Southwestern 3-A Conference record to 3-0. The Mountaineers, tied with the East Gaston Warriors for first place in the SWC, entertain Bums in a conference bout tonight. Preliminaries begin at 7 p.m. and regular matches start at 7:30. Kings Mountain fell behind early Monday, due to forfeits in the first two matches, but the Mountaineers won eight of the last 10 matches to win going away. KM grapplers winning on pins were Joey Wyte, Caje Etters, Jimmy Watkins, Bernard Womic, Tommy Welch, Jim Barringer and Tom Potter. Kings Mountain’s other victory was Todd Bell’s major decision over Bucky Henson, who was the 147-pound champion in the Gaston Invitational Tourna ment. The Mountaineers’ match with Burns tonight will be their final home conference match. They travel to East Gaston Monday for a match that will probably decide the regular season championship.
