Wright Whitworth, 72, of Route
1, Grover, were conducted Tues
day at Allen Memorial Baptist
Church by the Rev. William
Parker and the Rev. Wray Bar

cemetery.
Mrs. Whitworth died Sunday
at Cleveland Memorial Hospital,
after several years illness!
A native of Cleveland Coun
ty, she was the widow of the late
Erastus Z. Whitworth. She was a
member of Allen Memorial Bap
tist Church.
Surviving are two sons. Gene
Whitworth of Grover and J.L.
Whitworth of Gastonia; two
daughters, Mrs. Linda Mosteller
and Mrs. Diane Putnam of
Grover; two brothers, Allen
Wright of Earl and Jim L.
Wright of Cherryville; one sister,
Mrs. E.M. MeSwain of Earl; 11
grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs.
Alene Sellers Wallace, 65, of
Troutman, were conducted
Tuesday at Fern Hill Baptist
Church in Troutman by the
Rev. Conley O. Matlock. Burial
was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace died Sunday at
Baptist Hospital in Winston-
Salem after an illness of three
months.
A Cleveland County native,
she was the daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sellers. She
was a retired .textile employee.
Survivors include her hus
band, E. Marvin Wallace; three
sons, Jimmy E. and Larry Wade
Wallace, both of Troutman, and
Billy Joe Wallace of the home; a
brother, Lee Sellers of Cher
ryville; five sisters, Mrs. Laura
Smith of Waco, Mrs. Myrtle
Beam of Bessemer City, Mrs.
P.C. (Lucy) Huffstetler, Mrs. Et
ta Costner and Mrs. Clem
(Wilma) Wright, all of Kings
Mountain; five grandchildren;
one step-grandchild, and two
great -grandchildren.

he was the son of the late
Michael and Margaret Elizabeth
Clark Bess. He was a retired
farmer, and a member of the
Board of Deacons at Shady
Grove Baptist Church for six
years.
Surviving are his wife. Birdie
Jane Mauney Bess; one son, R. •

Burton, a veteran Kings
Mountain police officer, died
Friday at 1 a.m. at Gaston
Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Wray died Thursday at
Kings Mountain Hospital.
She was the duaghter of the
late Coon Rod and Lila Tucker
