Prisoner, 23, Chooses
Death Over Jail

horrified courtroom audience
watched, r, 23-year-old man who
had just been ssnteneed to a year
in prison Wednesday broke from
hia custodian# and dived through
an open eighth floor window to his
death.
The prisoner, Luther Robinson,
23, was accused by Mrs. Eule Rob
inson, no relation, of stealing two
suitcases from her home.
Judge George L, Quilid, who
heard the testimony and pronounc
ed sentence, was visibly shaken by
the tragedy.
"This is a terrible shock,” he
