Warren Farmer Sells Cotton By The Hour WAR FENTON—Au Justus Alston of Rout# 1, Warrenton, reports tha i he is now selling cotton by the , hour instead of by the round. In | one hour his cotton profits him j $12.23. i Alston says he had 1,285 pound of seed cotton which valued at 12 1-2 cents per pound which a | mounted to $157.41. He decided to ; have the cotton ginned and baled. ; The cost of ginning came to $126.76. 1 His baled cotton weighed 475 lbs. ! and sold for $165.40. He sold the | seeds for sl7 By having his cotton ginned and ( baled, he grossed $133.40 less the j cost of ginning ($12.76). North Carolina, as host for the occasion This event was well attended by 4-H'ers, parents. 4-H teacher and community leaders, and friends throughout the county The 4-H'ers gave both individual and team demonstrations in such areas of agriculture and homemaking as cotton, forage, dairy foods, tobacco, sweqj potatoes, vegetables, bread making, electricity, and of course, talent.
