the public schools of Roanoke, Va.,
attended Livingstone College,
graduated from the Virginia Theo
iogical Seminary, and has done
further study at Crozer Theologi
cal Seminary, the Newspaper In
stitute of America, and the Uni
versity of Chicago Law School.
During the administration of Mr.
Johnson at Emmanuel Baptist in
Thomasville. the church was re
dedicated and a renovation pro
gram valued at $25,000 was com
pleted. The spiritual life of the
church has been encouraged and
the membership increased.
Rev. Johnson has served as a
boys’ work leader in the YMCA at
Roanoke, and Lynchburg, Va.,
where he became associated with
Boys’ Work, completing a course
in Leadership Training. He is an
executive of the Boy Scouts of A
merica and for two years worked
■with the March of Dimes as a
Campaign Director. He has also
served pastorates in Virginia.
