FUQUAY-VARINA BY MISS BETTY MERRITT HOLLY SPRINGS - Morning worship services opened at the United Church of Christ Sur. 'ay with the pastor, Rev. John H, Jones, presiding. He chose his text from a portion of the third chapter of St. John on the theme “Lacking Understanding." The senior choir rendered music accompanied by Mrs. Cora Las siter. Following the morning serv ice, Rev, Jones and congrega tion rendered service at the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church The Daughters of /ion ap peared on a program along with the Fuqua; Gospel Singers and others at First Baptist in A pex Sunday afternoon at 5. At 7 :30 p.m. f we returned to the United Church of Christ for a musical program spon sored by the birth month of May. Many fine groups ap peared. The Athletic Club played the Midway team Saturday after noon. Tiie score was 1!-9 in our favor, Sunday afternoon was another game day. The Ath letic Club played the team from Friendship Comm unit y.
