Hall, presiding, The opening hymn was “Draw Me Nearer.” The subject of the lesson was “The Bible In Many Lan guages.” Scripture was taken from the Book of Acts 2:1-12. He chose his text for the morning message from Proverbs 31:1-10; "Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies.” Rev, Rush used as a theme: “An Ideal Woman.” A voluntary junior choir of our community rendered music and were accompanied by Miss Jean Jones, A Mother’s Day program was held immediately following morning services. The congregation sang, “Glory To His Name,” led by Mrs. Odell Thorpe. The scripture was read by Mr. Thorpe and prayer was offered also by him. The subject of the lesson was, “The Bible In the Language Os the People,” from the Book of Acts 2:1-12. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Senior Choir rehearsal will be held this coming Thurs day night at 8 o’clock. The Gospel Chorus rehearsal was held Wednesday at 8 p.m. Morning worship services o pened at St. Augusta Freewill Baptist Church Sunday at li, with the pastor, Rev. J. a. Jackson, presiding. Music was rendered bv the junior chorus, accompan ied by Mr Wilbert Thorpe. The scripture was from the 113th Psalm. Prayer was of fered by Mr. Marshall McKoy. Mr. James McKinnie rendered "If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again,’ in honor of all mothers. The pastor came for ward with the message. He chose his text from Psalm 113; 1-9. His theme was "God’s Way W ith Women.” His message was most heartwarming. Visitors included Mr, Selma Gaddy of New York, and Second Lt. U lysses Webster. Let us not forget the Rev. Ttie Thomas Sisters sang, “How Great Thou Art.’ It was sung beautifully. The pastor delivered a wonderful message. He chose for 1 is text the 31 chapter of Proverbs and his topic was “An Ideal Mo ther.” The message was won derful. The oldest mother attending the service at St. Augusta was Mrs. Decie Lawrence, 82. The youngest mother was Mrs. Por tia Daughter;,’ and baby, 3 months old. A belated happy birthday to Bobby Harris, whoso birthday was on May Bobby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Harris. Let us remember the sick and shut-ins.
