The .subject of the lesson was “The Story the Bible Tells.” The lesson text was from Acts I3;10-P3 and 4:32-33. Morning worship service be gan at St. Augusta Church at 11:30 with the pastor, Eev. J. M. Jackson in charge. The mu sic was rendered by the jun ior choir, accompanied by Mr. Wilbert Thorpe. The scrip ture lesson was readby the pas tor and prayer was offered by Mr. Marshall McKoy. Rev. Jackson’s message was chosen from St. John 1:6. The text; * 'There came a man sho was sent from God whose name was John.” His theme was “The Mark Os A Since Life.” It was an inspiring sermon. He was the son of the late Mr. William and Mrs. Mattie Dewar. His survivors are wife, Mrs. Halcie Dewar; two daugh ters, Misses Jessie Ruth and Marsha Dewar of the home; three sons, Messers Rudolph and Charles of the home and Jackie David of Fort Jack son, S. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Lovie Lyons, Mrs. Ressie Rudd, Mrs. Lucille Cutts; two broth ers, Mr. Clayton Dewar and Mr. Wilson Dewar of Fuquay-Va rina. Pfc. Harry Massey of Bridge port, Conn, formerly of Mt. Vernon, N. Y. and Angler, was killed in Vietnam recently. He was the son of Mr. How ard Massey and the late Mrs. Lois Lawrence Massey. His funeral was held in Bridgeport, Conn., on Tuesday, June 10. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Massey and daughter of Bridgeport, Conn.; Buddy MeCullers were invited guests last Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie MeCullers in Apex dur ing a cookout. The afternoon was an enjoyable one. Mi. and Mrs. Bennie Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Milford and friend of Durham came to join S/Sgt. and Mrs. Caesar for the afternoon.
