FROM RALEIGH'S OFFICIAL POLICE FILES THE CRIME BEAT (CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONE) SAYS MEN BEAT HIM UP James Konkins, ‘.-38 e. Har gett Street, told Officer H. L. Rushing at 11:01 p.m. Friday, that lie was walking home on E, Hargett when two cars pull ed up and a group of men got out of them and began to beat him with their hands and will) a gun "for no reason at all ” He said the reason he was given by the men for the beating was that he had hit Bill Glover’s daughter that afternoon, Hopkins declared, had not hit anyone," He also told the cop that he would sign an assault with a deadly wea pon warrant. The one - sided fight occurred near his Lome. * * * WON’T IDENTIFY ATTACKER Willis Barnes, Jr. refused to give any information to an investigating officer as to who stabbed him in the right arm with a knife about 2;30 p.m. Sunday. He did say, however, that he would not sign a war rant against the unknown stab ber. * * * STRIKES COP IN EYE Officer Lonnie Thomas Wil son, 2214 Brower Street, re ported at 11:45 p.m, Tuesday, that he went to 711 S. Tarboro Road, informed Of ficei s Joseph Blaylock and C. Y. Pittman at 3:36 a.m. Thurs day, that he heard a noise at the front window of his house. He said lie went around the house and caught James Thomas Harris, 27, Box 4, Youngsville, at the front window. Harris was "hauled off" to Wake Coun ty Jail and charged with being a peeping tom. * * + STRUCK WITH HAMMER Miss Ruby Ann Horton, 716 Manly Street, told Officer E. D. Strickland at 11:05 p.m. Sat urday, that she visiting friends at 3114 Wilder Street in the Method section of the city when Mrs. Dorothy Lispcomb, who reportedly lives at that address, entered t’ne house, started an argument and pick ed up a hammer which she uSed to strike tiie complainant on the head with. She then ran from,the house. Miss Horton said she might sign a warrant against Mrs. Lipscomb. * * * "SHUTS HIS MOUTH’’ Arthur Johnson, 44, 10 W, Railroad Street, reported to Of ficer Rudolph F. Perry at 2:57 p.m. Saturday, that he was in Nash Square, 200 W. Martin St., resting on a bench. Lucious Kittrell, 51, 1125 Gregg Street, was ar rested and charged with as suit and battery. Johnson suf fered a slight laceration of the upper lip. * * * MONEY "SWIPED” FROM HOME Milton Webster, 1320 Pender Street, told Officer D. Brin son at 1;59 p.m. Saturday, that he "missed my money shortly after Aubry Walters, 1112 Pend er Street, left my house in a hurry.” Two twenty dollar bills and a ten were taken from a dresser drawer in a rear bed room at the Webster residence. The policeman reported that the complainant had been drinking, but Webster hastened to inform him that Walters was also drinking. * * * USES RAZOR ON MATE Raymond Williams, • 44, 13 Saint Augustine’s Avenue, told a cop from his bed at Wake Memorial Hospital at 11 ; 50 a. m. Saturday he was cut by his wife with a razor blade at their home. He claimed it was an ac cident and refused to sign a warrant against her. The of ficer’s report noted, "This is a family problem. Mr. Wil iams cut his w'ife last week and there was no warrant signed in this incident either." The sus pect is Mrs. Alice Williams. Williams exhibited a lacer ation through the right ear, about a three and one-half inch laceration behind the ear into the scalp, and a two-inch cut on the right chin. * * * BEATEN IN OWN CAR Bobby Lewis Harris, 20, Hol ly Springs, Lnformed Officer W. B. Robertson, the com plainant, had a one-inch lac eration on the top of his head. The incident took place at their house. * * * BEATEN OVER SISTER Henry Clark, 25, 704 Cum berland Avenue, told Officer E, L. Barham at 10:30 p.m. Friday, that he went to the 400 block of Alston Street to talk to Billy Glover about his sis ter. He said that while he was there, he was assualted by Glov er and another subject, whom he did not know. Clark signed a warrant against Glover and promised one against the other subject when he finds out his name. The silver box with her name on it in aluminum letters, was valued at S2O, while the black metal post was said to be worth $5. * * * BEATEN AND ROBBED Miss Mystia Jeanie Ellis, white switchboard operator at Sir Walter Hotel, was working when she was called on the phone from inside the hotel. She said the only words the person spoke were "Please help me.” Miss Ellis called the police and they arrived about one minute later to find Paul Washington, 26, 100 W. Martin Street, lying on the floor at the Sir Park, 414 Fayetteville Street. He had been robbed of approximately SIOO in change and currency. He had also be'eri beaten sever ly and his condition was unknown at the time of this report. * * * SNEAK THIEF GETS CASH Mrs. Anne Eaton Woods. Rt. 1, Louisburg, told Officers B. W„ People and Glen Westbrook at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, that SSO in cash was removed from her pocketbook in a desk draw er of Room 229, Wake County Office Building, 201 W. Davie Street, between the hours of 12:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. She said she was only out of her office from 12;15 until 1 p.m. She did say, however, that the occupant of an adjoining office was loft in iiis office when whe went to lunch. Two twenties and a ten were stolen. * * * TOOL BOX "LIFTED” Milton "Bud” Hunter, 550 E. Martin Street, informed Of ficer Otis L.
