Flood tried to score on a hit by Cards’ Yada Pinson to Pirates’ 3rd baseman Richie Hebner. Hebner threw wild to first and the ball got past Ist baseman Carl Taylor. Taylor threw to May for the out and Hebner was charged with an error on the play. The Cards defeated the Pirates, 6-3. (UPI). FSC SIGNS CAGER-Terrenee Murchison, 6-5 cage standout with E. E. Ashe will be featured Sun day, August ivth, at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center, Forest Park, St. Louis with the opening tournament match scheduled for Monday, August 18th.
