Imported Notice To All Negroes in Warren County WARRENTON - The Warden County Chapter of the NAACP officially adopted the following resolution: Be it resolved that we op posed the establishment oi the two new school districts; Wat renton City Schools and the Lit tleton-Gaston School unit. Wo opposed it through representa tion at the General Assembly, stating then, very clearly it was created for racist pur poses for white students to avoid attending integrated county schools with black students. Al so, we have filed a law suit against these new districts through our attorneys in fed eral courts. Be it resolved that the NAACP believes in quality education too. But we believe Ln having quality education for all War ren County citizens, black and white, in one school system. Therefore all Negroes are strongly urged not to attend the Warrenton City Schools or the Littleton - Gaston Schools. No sane black citizen would help create a racist school district which would deny his fellow black brothers the right to at tend, unless he had $75.00 No sane black citizen would dare help finance a white racist school district. If you have you will get a tag which tells you about the guarantee. Cleaning instructions are also stated. With fabrics like these be hind you, you can make great outfits that look like the one shown here. It's a jumper that's high necked and pleated (you can wear a contrasting sweater •underneath) with a very simple collarless jacket over it, both made from Simplicity Pat tern *8356. The bonded fabrics are by Carietex and they are covered by the COIN guaran tee. You'll find that bonded fab rics are easy to handle because oi the self-lining, and that fit ting, the crucial step in sewing, is easier to accomplish. Now you don't have to worry about bonded fabric perform ance. Be sure you ask for a COIN bonded fabric and get the tag that is your guarantee of a quality product. paid, get your money back. Lei all Negroes of Warren County be united in this effort and attend only the county schools. If all the whites run to the city schools, let them. We’ll make the county schools quality and responsive to the needs of its students. We strongly recommend to all Negroes living within these new school districts, to transfer to the county schools. You still have time to do this. If you have trouble with the trans fer, get in contact at once with our NAACP president or con tact our legal council, Clayton and Ballance Law Firm. The surgical technique of im planting kidneys was a major accomplishment of animal re search but was originally of short term benefit because of the rejection syndrome. Irradi ation was tried without much success. Drug therapy in ani mals to suppress rejection proved the key to long term transplant survival and made it possible to apply the technique to humans. Another important factor was the proper choice of animal model: the dog. It would have been more convenient to use rats, mice, hamsters and rab bits, hut these small animals do not have large enough blood vessels. The anatomy of the dog more closely parallels man’s “New Hampshire” was one of the first laboratory 7 dogs to live a prolonged, healthy life with a transplanted kidney. The friendly yellow and white mon grel was given drug therapy for more than a year after the op eration. Then he was gradually weaned away from all medica tion. “New Hampshire” kept both his transplanted kidney and his happy disposition. This raises the hope that human kid ney recipients also may be able to forego drug use. A very important component of all transplant research has been the freedom to obtain, study and operate on research dogs like “New Hampshire.” In return, however, he and his canine relatives require and receive the best of medical care, living quarters, food and nurs ing supervision. solve a asm BY A. C. GORDON The wealthy cattleman, Adam Stuart, meets you at the r front door of his picturesque ranch home. “A horrible thing . . . this tragedy that has strucK us,” he exclaims. “1 jusi can't understand wny sam should have done it." You follow him into the huge, extremely high-celltnged living room where from one of the beams hangs the body of Adam Stuart’s partner, Sam Wilkins. As you move near the body your eyes are caught by the brand new boots dan-* gling just about at the level of your chest, then you stoop to examine the little coffee table which lies over-turned on the wide-planed floor underneath, the highly-polished top of the table mirroring your solemn features as you bend ovei it. "He must have stood on that, then kicked it away/' says Stuart. ‘*l was out on the range this morning examining some new stocly that came in yesterday. Sarn, as you know, lives about a mile from here. He was supposed to meet me on the range this morning . . . when he failed to appear, I was very much puzzled ... he was always so conscientious about being punctual. Finally, as I was riding near the house here, I decided to come in and phone him at his home. You can imag ine how shocked T was when I came in and found him . . . like this* I've seen a lot of rough living in my time . . . some killings, too . , . but when it’s your own partner . . .” he shakes his head mournfully. "Why didn’t you cut him down and try to revive him? ’ you ask. "I guess I didn’t even think of that. Anyway, it looxed as though he had been hanging there for quite awhile, and I’m sure there nothing I could have done for him.” "Well,” you then say, "whether or not you could have done anything for him, 1 don’t know. Bui I’m sure this was i ics a suicide!” What has tea you to this conclusion? SOLUTION The fact that Sam W’ilklns’ feet were hanging at the level of your cheat eliminates the possibility of his [saving used the "little” coffee table to stand on. And vou cannot fathom why a cattleman as hardened and experienced as Adam Stuart should have left Ms partner’s body hanging as he did. The normal reaction upon discovery would have been to cut the body down as quickly a's possible and make some attempts at resuscitation.
