Visitors are always welcomed ai First Bap tist. Sunday afternoon at 3, the Rev. J. E. Perkins, the senior choir and the gospel chorus rendered the first anniversary service for Rev, C. T, Bellamy who is pastor of the White Oak Baptist Church. Mrs, Josephine Farrar and Mr. John Fuller conducted the services. Miss Marie Harrington read the scripture; Mr. Macy Gee gave the invocation; Mr. Leon Hern don, the welcoming address; Mrs. Louise Colvin, the re sponse; Mr. Henry Mason in troduc >1 Rev. Perkins, who de livered an interesting and fitt ing sermon. His text was tak ■ n from the !Oth chapter of the Hook of Romans 13- IP. It was a textual sermon. The auxiliaries ..-resented Rev. Bellamy with gifts. The sponsor thanked the guests and friends 'who contributed their tine support to make this oc casion a success. Sunday evening at 7:30, Mrs. Teresa Cofield was the spon soi of a service rendered by :. ov? Robert 1.-. Fuller of Dur ham. He is pastor of the Hat chet Grove Baptist Church and his choir attended. Rev. Fuller delivered" ar. interesting ser mon from the Book of St, Luke 10:3. His subject “Go Foward, lincolnvilie AMI BY CAROLYN BRASWELL AS BURY - Sunday School opened at 9:40 a m. with the superintendent, Mr. Charles Rogers, in charge. The opening hymn was “I Must Tell Je sus,” Prayer was given by Mr. Marshall Brown. The second hymn, “Jesus Is Called,” was then sung. The subject of the lesson was “God With His Peo ple/' The scripture was read from the Book of Exodus, A re view of the lesson was made by Mrs. Lucille Cotton. Miss Linda Evans, Lincoln ville’s Sunday School delegate, gave her report. Sunday School officers for 1969-’7O are: superintendent, Mr. Charles Rogers; first Bi ble class teacher, Mr. James White; second teacher, Miss Nellie McKnight; third teacher, Mrs. Lucille Cotton; and fourth teacher, Miss Clarice Perry. Miss Margaret Louise Mat thews is secretary and Mr, Melvin Jones, treasurer. The morning services opened at 11:05 with Rev. El, M. Jen erette presiding. The junior choir rendered the music. Prayer was offered by Mr. Moses Jones. The scripture and text were taken from the 14th chapter of St. Luke. Perkins and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Rohmd Alston, Jr., and two children of Den ver, Calo., are visiting Mrs Alston’s parents, Mr. and Mrs, G. C„ Harris. She will also be visiting Mr. Alston’s parents of Durham. Mr and Mrs. Ro land Alston, Sr Mr. Alston is in the U. S. Forces and will be going to Vietnam.
