Martin Street, told Officer W. B. Harrington at 3:53 p.m. last Tuesday, that Frederick Qulller, 32, 218 S. East Street, came into his store, walked up to the ice cream box, said a few words to someone, then hit the ice cream box with Ills fist, breaking the glass top. After this, he was told to leave the store by the owner, who la ter signed a damage to prop el ty warrant and Mr Quiiler was arrested. Damage to the ice cream box was set at S6O. * * * LICENSE TAG “SWIPED” Roosevelt Johnson, 10 Rail road Street, informed Officer P, E. Braswell at 11:39 p.m. Wed nesday, that ids 1960 Rambler . was parked at 412 E Davie ■ Street the day before, and on Wednesday a Mr. Bryant found his license plate was missing. The car had not been moved. The tag, number YK-1045, was valued at sll. * * * PICK POCKET FLEES Joseph Ashby White, 909 Buckanan Boulevard, Durham, reported to Officer Joseph Blaylock at 3:32 p.m. Wednes day, that he was about to board a bus for Durham on TrackS’x, when he reached back for his wallet to get a ticket and dis covered that it was missing. He said he recalls one Negro male talking to him, but he couldn’t understand him Ivecause he is hard of hearing. The brown wal let, containing SIOO was valued at $3 * * * SEES MAN BREAK IN Mrs. Rachel Lee Seawright, 1809 Liberty Place (Southgate) told Officers J. L. Arrington and N. A. Carter at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, that she had trouble all day with Jesse Clinton Wat son, 28, same address, and she left home because she was scared. The woman said she was at a neighbor’s house when she saw Watson break out a win dow and enter the house, come out the front door. She signed a warrant, charging damage to property and Watson was arrested at the corner of S, Pettigrew and E. Hargett Streets. He suffered a two-inch cut on the left arm. Damage to the window was placed at. S2O. * * * STRUCK WITH TWO BY FOUR Henry Doc Upchurch, 58. 626 Dorothea Drive, informed Of ficer W. F. Booth at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday of last week, that he and James Tucker, 45, who works at Apex Nursery, were arguing, then Tucker picked up a piece of two by four wood and struck Upchurch on the head, causing a three-inch cut over his right eye. Mr. Up ajg/T.urcl! said he would sign an with a deadly weapon warrant against Tucker. The in cident took place at 313 W. South Street. * * * STEREO, TAPES “LIFTED” Mrs. Eula May McLeod, 1311 * Branch Street, reported to Of ficer R, L. Johnson at 5:18 p.m. Thursday, that her car was parked in front of her residence when a 12 volt stereo-tape deck, valued at $75, and seven assorted tapes, which cost $49, were stolen from it. She said she had no idea who took then; * * * CAR WINDOW SMASHED Eugene Clifton Harris, Route Box 10, Cary, told Officers S. E. Cobb and .J. W. Rogers at 4:23 a.m. Saturday, that he was heading south on S. Wilmington Street when something hit his rear windshield. He said, he turned around and went back, but was unable to locate any one. Damage to the windshield s of his 19G" Chrysler was set at r $100; * * * ROBBED BY TWO Curtis Edward Hunter, 542 E. Cabarrus Street, informed Officer E. V. Currin at 2:28 a.m Saturday, that he was walk ing home and decided to take a short cut through Chavis Park when he was attacked by two colored males. He said he was beaten and cut on the left arm. His billfold was stolen during the fight. Hunter would not give descriptions of his attackers. * * * RE VC -VER STOLEN George Fuller, 712 E, Mar tin Street, reported to the in vestigative division of the Ra leigh Police Department at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday of last week, that someone had taken his .32 cali bre revolver from a kitchen drawer at his home. The pistol was valued at SSO * * * TV SET TAKEN Mrs. Mozellc- Morgan, 902 vßock Quarry Road, told Officer w.V, B. Harrington at 7:29 p.m. Tuesday, that her television set was at home when she left for work. However, when she returned, tier children told tier that the Phiico portable tele vision set, valued at $l5O, was missing. A suspect, listed as Harold Watson, about 20, of Bart Street, was reportedly seen by some boys with a large bag with something the size of the TV inside. * * * STE ALS JACKET, RUNS William Whitfield, an official of McCrory’s Store, 230 Fay etteville Street, informed Of ficer J. C. King at 1:17 p.m. Saturday, that a colored male walked Into the store and look ed around for a few minutes at the jackets, then got one off of the rack and ran out of 'he store. He said the subject is a frequent visitor of the store. The Navy blue nylon jacket was valued at $10.99. * * » MONEY TAKEN FROM DRAWER James Boone, 413 Bi anch Street, reported to Officer J. C. King at 11:17 a.m. Satur day, that he left his home at approximately 1 a.m this date and there were four other per sons in the house. When he re turned and looked for his money (SSO in cash) in “the second dresser drawer,’’ he was un able to find it. He was also un able, he said, to locate any one who knew anything about the money, * * Jf KICKS FRONT DOOR OPEN Miss Alean Graves, 723 S. Dawson Street, informed two cops at 4:06 a.m. Sunday, that John Thorpe, Jr,, 724 S. Daw son Street, came to her house and tried to get her to let him come inside. After she refused, he asked her if she wanted this door. Miss Graves said she then left her house, via the back door and went to a friend’s house, where she called the po lice. She said she heard Thorpe when he kicked her front door open. She signed a breaking and entering warrant against Mr. Thorpe. Damage to the front door was placed at S2O. * * * DID MOVER MOVE THEM? Mrs. Helen J. Wade, apart ment 15, 521 Wade Avenue, re ported last Tuesday, that on October 17, movers from the Neptune Company, Raleigh- Durham Highway, had been at house and said one of the movers, identified as John Sin clair, about 30, colored male, is suspected of having moved one ladies’ diamond watch, with about 30 diamonds and one gold Chrysler cigarette lighter. Btssette at 8:40 p. m. Sunday, that he was attack ed and robbed by three colored males in the 300 block of S. Swain Street.
