HONOR WHERE HONOR IS DUE-This picture was made in Atlanta, Ga., recently when members of the Constitution Committee of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity to review and adopt a governing document. The Theta Alpha Chapter, Dallas, Texas, recognized the contribution that Brother Benjamin J. Mays has made to the fraternity and the nation and took this opportunity to present him with a plaque. Mrs. Maxine is a fine house wife and is capable to help rule the world, The Gaklevei United Church of Christ announces a service of dedication for its newly-erected sanctuary on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. Rev. SICK AND SHUT-INS Mrs, Elisa Durham, the wi dow of the late Will Durham, is confined to tine Maria, Par ham Hospital, where she is to undergo an operation# Mrs, Durham is a prominent mem ber of the QaMevel United Churcn of Christ and lives in the Drewry community. Her fr iends and relatives wish that God's will be done with her as it is in Heaven. Mrs. Annie Dorch of the same community and one of the oldest members of the ■ Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is also confined at the Maria. Par ham Hospital,, TO THE GREAT BEYOND The hour having come, the following persons passed to the great beyond, where all sorrow ceases and where there will be one eternal day; Mrs. Ann Wil liams of the Manson commun ity; Mr. Robert, L. Shepard, a retired mortician of Oxford; Mr. Aquiila Brown of the Mid diebnrg Community and a mem ber of the St. Paul United Church of Christ; Mr. Joseph "Bill” Williams of Franklin County and HENDERSON-OXFORD-W ARRENTON: a member of the Jordan Chapel Baptist Church and Mr. Teajy Thomas, who lived a number of years in New Haven, Conn., and was a former citizen of War ren County. Interment was in the t Tones Chapel Cemetery. ST. ANDREWS UNITED CHRIS TIAN CHURCH NEWS BY MISS VICKIE FIELDS HENDERSON - Our pastor, Rev. W. J 9 Wilson, ushers and the senior choir rendered serv ices at the Holy Temple Church on Sunday evening at 7;30. Con secration services were led by Sister Fannie Davis and Sister Minnie Burroughs. Hymns and testimonies were heard throughout the audience Col lection was taken up by Dea cons Hicks and Minter, Mr, James Carter and Joseph John son* after which our pastor took over. The senior choir sang **Let Us Walk,” "I Once Was Lost In Sin,” "Just A Little Talk With Jesus” and "There's A Bright Side.” Scripture was taken from the 17th chapter of St. Matthew. The text was "Pm sick, the church is weak, but there is a strong God.” In his discourse, he stated that the world is sick, and the church is weak, not being able t© supply man with the spiritual needs that are so desperately needed in the world. The remaining sub jects received no tutoring. Both experimental groups showed consistent progress over the six-month period with little difference in the two tutor ed groups.
