Godwin at 12:13 a. m. Friday, that he and Leroy Evans were walk ing north in the 300 block of S. East Street when three subjects came up behind them and pushed Mr. Upchurch down, They then proceeded to "relieve" him of his billfold, valued at $2, but containing no money. Upchurch went on to relate that Mr Evans, his companion ran and he did not see him again. He also stated that his head hit a car, caus ing injuries to hts forehead and lower lip. The glass in a door was broken and the win dow w-as unlocked, according to the report. An officer from the City-County Identifica tion Bureau came to the scene and dusted for fingerprints. Peoples at 10:30 last Tuesday that he was assault ed by an unknown person at the corner o' Patterson Lane and E. Cabarrus Street. He could not describe the sus pect. Sims said he was work ing on a car when the sub ject started an argument with him. Mr. Sims refused to go to Wake Memorial Hospital for treatment of a two-inch knife wound in the stomach. She said she was thrown to the ground but broke loose and ran from the assailant. She described him as being about 20, five feet, eight Inches tall and weighing about 160 lbs. She staten that he was wear ing a gray suit. ROBBED AT KNIFEPOINT Willie Lee Webb, 10 N. East Street, informed Officer G. W. Abernathy at 2:17 a. m. Friday, that he was with three subjects in the 200 block of B. East Street when one plac ed a knife at his throat and robbed him of $387. Investiga tion is continuing. SEEK FEMALE FORGER Larry A. Stroud, an em ployee of Hudson-Belk De partment Store, 319 Fayette ville Street, reported to Offi cer S. B. Price at 11 a m. Fri day, that a check which was passed at the store on last Tuesday by a colored female, whom he found out to be Miss Catherine 3# rr.es, Rledaos- Avenue and who wonts at Marriew Convalescent Home, Whitaker Mill Road, was a forgery, Stroud stated that he had obtained a sample of her signature from the convales cent home.
