The Ram’s won the toss and did not waste any time scor ing. They returned the open ing kick off 19-yards and 8 plays later scored. The scor ing drive was set-up with a 29-yard running play by Alray Johnson. Bob Wolfrum scor ed from the 2-yard line. Bar ry Stevenson, came on to kick the extra point, as he did five more time in this game. Later in the quarter, Dela ware's Robert Screen, a soho more halfback from Washing ton, D. C, fumbled the football on the Delaware 10-yard line, and four plays later Wolfrum again scored from the two-yard line. Stevenson kicked theex+ra point. The scoring in the second quarter was started by a 38- yard field goal by Stevenson. Later in that quarter, Randy Wynings scored from 17-yards out, Stevenson again kicked the extra point. The score was set-up by a 371 yard pass re ception by Pete Young.
