COURSE DESCRIPTION
A classroom method, opened to anyone with experience on pi^o
or organ. Focus on the study of chords, improvisation, reading
sheet music & m^em rhythms. Since individual practice is
recommended, a piano or organ at home is necessary.
Beginner course using text of Silverman’s Five Card Major
which will be available in class for $1.50.
Discussion class where all participants will be involved as much
as poaaible. Budgeting, shopping techniques, common sense &
using cr^t, cUldren spending, transportation & housing,
grocery shopping, insurance, record keeping & a general review
will be covcn^.

Winemaking & wine tasting, a*art ft agriculture, areendlesaly
Caadnating, but not necessarily mystifying. Emphasis on
taatiog ft evaluation of wines from 3 major mwing regions:
FVanix, Germany and Califbmia with discusaions of history ft
techniques of wine making as interest arises. In addition to ap-
proumately a dozen wines to be tasted, vinUge charts,
bibliographies ft other supplements will be circulated on request.

Session I - “Your Aging ParenU: Options & Services” - Discus
sion on such questions as what to do with an aged parent who
can no longer manage alone, medical ft financial assistance,
programs for the aged and nursing homes.
Session II • “Adult Children ft Aging Parents: A Rearrangement
of Family Roles” Short ntovie to illustrate conflicting feelings
which may arise in families with aged parent(s).
Session III • "Planning for Old Age: LesMns from Our Parents”
Presentation ft discussion of how to apply experienoM in dealing
with our elderly parents to ourselves.

Learn applique ft quilt by machine. Finish items in class:
pillows, quilts, hangings ft soft sculpture items. You supply
fab^ trim ft imagination ft Sue supplies the instmctians. Some
sewing; experience helpful. Bring usual sewmg notions * por-
table sewing machine if possible. Class supply fee varies depen
ding on projects. This will be dscided at mt dass.
Create your own floral arrangements using dried, silk ft some
fresh flowers. Class is geared to help teach you how to make
floral-iesigns for your personal use in your home ft to share with
frienda (gifts, etc.). All supplies extra ft available for purchase
during class.
Painting on canvas for bsginners. Lsatn to paint in oils.
Probably complete two paintings “suitable for framing" • one
Isuidscape ft one still life. Diacm composition, color mixing,
basic pointing techniques. Supplies furnished by student.
