Chai January was an eventful month for Chai, one filled with educational and entertainment programs. On Jan. 9 a new CPCC quarter began with rug- hooking as the main feature. The group is working on in dividual projects and a large collective work for the wall of the new Center. Artist Sue Alvarez is sketching the large project on canvas. Other programs included a birthday cake for individuals with a birthday in January, a speaker from Southern Bell speaking on the AT&T break up, and a theology lesson with Rabbi Richard Rocklin. Bookkeeper Hired The JCC is pleased to an nounce that Brenda Manes has accepted a part-time book keeping position at the Center. Brenda received her B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University and last held a position as Accounting Manager of a medium-sized firm. Brenda, her husband Irwin and their three boys have liv ed in Charlotte since April 1982.
