Help him get through the maze as quickly as possible. by Audrey Colish (I’laor I’cH'ni in front of mirror for answers) Purim is a happy time, About this day we’re gonna rhyme. Can you do it riprht this time? Come on now complete my rhyme! Tell me the name of the King if you darest. The King’s name wasH8UOfl3VH8AHDA His first queen was not his cup of tea. She was known as QueenITH8AV • Achashveroush had a wicked minister • Whose intentions were very sinister. To kill the Jews was his plan. This man’s name wasl^AMAH. Achashveroush picked a lovely queen, As Haman went about his scheme. She w’as brought in by the jester. Her name of course was Queen H3HT83. Well, Esther had a cousin bold. Of Haman’s plot to her he told. He didn’t want the Jews to die. He was cousin I AHD3QflONI. Esther told the King his plan. That Jews would die throughout the land. With anger Achashveroush said, “Haman will soon be dead!” /o n/)u Well the Jews lived forever after Instead of sorrow there was laughter. Haman’s gallows awaited him. And that is why we celebrateMIHU*!. Well, you just gave me every fact Except you left out Haman’s hat At Purim time we’re always nosh-in On real deliciousV13H38ATVIAMAH, Hamantaschen always rise. Because they have yeast. o Hey. now it’s time ^ to start our Purim T8A33. ® ^ 4 9 ^ % PURIM GRAGCTR • • Q i SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED * small cardboard box or container * beans or pebbles * adhesive tape * popcycle stick or slim, straight tree branch (about 8" — 12”) or a new pencil that has never been sharpened For Grogger: A • colored tissue paper, scissors and glue B * modeling clay, coins or buttons C • variety of colored yam, sketching pencils, and glue D • paint and paint brush. DIRECTIONS 1. Put some beans or pebbles into a cardboard box or container. 2. Seal aH openings with adhesive tape. 3. Insert the stick, or pencil or branch into a corner of the box. 4. Choose one of the following decorations. For Groggor: A. Cut out triangles, circles, squares, and ovals from colored tissue paper. Glue the shapes onto the grogger. Cover the whole box with modeling clay, about a thick. As soon as possible, while the clay is still wet, press for a minute a coin or button into the clay to make an impression, and then remove the object. Sketch a picture of a fish of flower on the grogger. Put glue all over th - sketch and fill in with pieces of colored yam. D. Paint the box one color and let it dry. Paint polka dots or stripes. B. C. BELOW YOU WILL FIND A BOX OF LETTERS. FIND AND CIRCLE THE WORDS IN THE WORD LIST.
