Many hours are being spent
working on the annual Chai
raffle. This year’s prizes are an
afghan by Chai member Sylvia
Sadoff and a silk screen print
by Charlotte artist G.G.
Kosch. The drawing is on
September 3 at the JCC pool.
The proceeds help support the
group’s many activities which
include trips, projects and
entertainment. Be on the look
out for the raffle letter. You
could be the lucky winner.
The Chai group is composed
of interesting and active
members of the senior com
munity. It’s an excellent op
portunity to meet other
seniors in an educational and
social setting. The group
welcomes new members. If
you would like to find out
more information about the
group and their activities, call
Susan Ett, Director of Adult
Programs, at the JCC at

The 4th of July at the J
turned out to be a great day;
The weather was hot
we picked the right spot
with games for ^ to play.
Red white and blue the decor
there were games and races galore.
Appetites were “wet”
picnic tables were set
and the basketball players did score.
There was barbequed chicken for all
with potato chips, pickles and slaw;
The desserts were the best
watermelon for guests
it was the best picnic you ever saw.
SI
We ended with music and cheer
voices so loud and so clear; §
We said our goodbyes
and looked toward the skies
and said “See ya’ll next year!”
