Clubhouse. The clothing was made by ORT students in France, Israel and Morocco. The models were members Sue Ett, Kathy Katz and Dorothy Shapiro. Lydia Kohn, the moderator, described the schools in each of the coun tries where the clothes were made. It was fulfilling to see the actual items made by the students we help train by our support of the ORT schools. This portion of the program was then followed by the special guest speaker, Paula Mcllvain, manager of the SouthPark Casual Comer. She brought samples of clothing from the store and discussed ways of coordinating and building a personal wardrobe that “worlM for you.” Paid Up Membership Dinner The annual paid up member ship dinner will be held on Oct. 24 at the home of Ellen Cooper, 3416 Champaign St. An Israeli dinner will be serv ed. Special guest speaker will be Joel Shatzky, an exchange professor at UNCC. Mr. Shat zky was commissioned by the First Street Playhouse of Ithaca, NY to write a play on American Jews and the topic of his talk will be “American Jews’ Attitude Toward Is rael.” All members and poten tial members are encouraged to come; they may even pay their dues at the door, pro- vidpg that they have called for a reservation. — Ellen Cooper Temple Betli El ICallali Temple Beth El’s Labor Day Weekend Kallah at Wild- acres, organized by our in credible Sally Schrader, was, by unanimous opinion, out standing. Dr. Jack Sasson, a Syrian bom Jew, who is pro fessor in the department of religious studies at the Univer sity of NC, Chapel Hill, was not only erudite but a gifted and witty speaker who made us eager to attend each of his sessions. Of course, our good meals were always followed by g^oup singing 1^ by the Rab bi with Marvin Bienstock and Lisa Vernon, our new Educa tion and Youth Director, ac- companjring on their guitars. Parents of young children were free to enj oy the glorious weather, scholarly sessions and their leisure, knowing that Darcy Bienstock was keeping their children happily busy with many activities not the least of which was their de lightful singing as part of the Entertainment Night organiz ed by Anne Yudell. A special part of that production was the duets sung by Rabbi and Mrs. Krantzler. The Havdalah Service, end ing the Sabbath, was held out- of-doors with the glorious mountains as a backdrop from the pulpit. Surely, Wildacres, as I.D. Blumenthal said, is “a gift from God. ” — Doris Edelsteln TOP PRODUCER For 1983 at Mary Ryder Realty JUDIE VAN GUSH m Office - 364-3300 Residence — 366-6619 ¥LS r I I I I I I I LWY.SinNMUl s ■■■■ ■■■■ COUPON MUST ACCOMPANY 0«D» ■■■■ 51% DISCOUMT AUOtYCUANIMG Silk Not indudtd Min. 5.00 ORDER AFTER DISCOUNT B-KLEEN CLEANERS & LAUNDRY DtlVE-THRU WINDOWS SCAMSTnSS ON DUTY ■VMrOAY BEAUTIFUL SHIRTS-SOUTHEAST CHARLOTTE'S FINEST OOUNTRYSBi SNOmNOCMTM SOUTNrAK SHARON SHOMNOCMni MATTNMS t710MQNMI».
