The sessions are from 10:30 a.m. to about 12 noon. They include Torah study and a short Sabbath morning service. Sessions will be led by Rabbi Harold I. Krzintzler. It is 2inticipated that the services will attract those interested in Torah study, with a special opportunity for an exchange of ideas within the framework of Reform Judaism. The program was the first in a series of programs produc ed this year by the National B’nai B’rith Women’s organization. The program revolved around the issues confronting the contemporary Jewish woman today. Chanukah Baskets: Overwhelming Success The Ha Lallah-sponsored “Chanukah Baskets” for families with special needs was an overwhelming success. The baskets, which Stephanie Seitlin and her committee prepared, were festive and fill ed with Chanukah candles, menorahs, gifts find ingre dients to make traditional Chanukah foods. The spirit of this project will be continued into the Passover season; when we will be collecting foodstuffs to distribute for this holiday. Contributions can be made to Sara Schreib- man (542-6594). Just for Kids Children's Holiday Gift Store “Just For Kids” the children’s holiday gift store which Ha Lailah sponsored for the first time this year was a very successful fundraising ef fort. Ha Lailah was available to open the store to two classrooms from the Charlotte Headstart Program. The store opened at a special hour to allow the children to shop for family and friends. Their “shopping spree” was follow ed by punch and cookies and everyone who p£u*ticipated en joyed the morning of fun. ADL Program February is ADL month na tionally for B’nai B’rith Women. Ha Lailah will be hosting a special ADL pro gram on February 19 at Tem ple Israel. Senior Adult Luncheon During the month of March, Ha Lailah will be the sponsor of the monthly Older Adult Luncheon. The “Luncheon” will be held on Msirch 10. Every Tuesday night Betsy Klein’s home is filled with peo ple. They come to look through £md buy from her assortment of fun and useful items designed to bring out the artistic in the purchaser. They leave with bags filled with such items as stickers, teddy bears, personalized rub ber stamps, gift wrap, and art works by Sue Alvarez. “I got the idea from Lynn Lemer’s ‘Yours Truly Needle point.’ Lynn has donated so much to our Jewish institu tions and organizations that I called her about my idea for a gift shop to try and do the same,” said Betsy. “She thought it 3sras a wonderful idea and has reaUy helped me set up and get started. “The response "has been marvelous. People return almost every week to see what new items have come in.” CREATIVE CONNEC TION, located at 4017-B Quail Glen Court, just down Quail Hollow Rd. from the comer of Carmel Rd., is open every Tuesday evening from 6-10 p.m. All proceeds are donated to Betsy Klein our Jewish community through the Charlotte Jewish Federation. Gallery hours £ire 10-5 Young Couples Club Has Fun The Temple Israel Young Couples Club invites all Jewish couples (regardless of temple affiliation) to celebrate a Valentine get-together. We will meet at Trevor and Linda Goldberg’s home at 3233 Landerwood Drive around 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. The only admission charge is to wear “black, white, and a splash of red” (creativity encouraged). With the election of new of ficers in December, the club has already had a Chinese din ner and bowling party in January and plan a family outing at the circus on March 16.
