Arazie Schwartz Diaz Radowitz Dr. Jared Schwartz has been named national chairman of the American College of Pathologists’ program committee, respon sible for programming events. He also serves on the Council on Education and Publication, as well as the microbiology resource and regional public services committee. He is a member of the Presbyterian Pathology Group and is medical director for the hospital’s department of pathology and laboratory medicine. • Tomaz Diaz has been named vice president, sales and marketing, Central Technical Services Inc. Jerry Radowitz was named controller, Communication Services Inc., Charlotte. • \ David Arazie is an X-ray assistant/transporter for Mercy Hospital Volunteer Services, an agency that serves the patients at the hospital and makes them more comfortable and feel more welcome while in the facility. Arazie has volunteered 50 to 75 hours per month for three years and is sdways dependable and willing to work in any capacity. Arazie, a retired merchant, has earned his 2,000 hour pin. He is also a volunteer for the Jewish Social Services and is in charge of evening prayer meetings at Temple Israel. Amy Rothschild, daughter of Rabbi and Mrs. Robert Seigel, has been included in “Who’s Who in American Universities.” She is a senior at the University of South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Friedlander can be very proud of their two sons: Spencer Friedlander has made the Honors Band - All State District Band (High School) and Larry Friedlander was named to the fall Dean’s list at UNC-CH. • Ben Melenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Melenson, has been selected by audition to be in the Junior High All-County Honors Orchestra for Mecklenburg County. • Deborah Klein, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Klein, has been accepted as ein event participant in “Studio ’86,” a select Girl Scout institute in Evansville, Indiana. She was one of 27 selected nationwide for a vocal major at the 14-day in stitute, held on the campus of the University of Evansville. Deborah has been a Girl Scout for eight years and is currently a member of Troop 499. • Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lerner’s three sons have sJl made the ffill Dean’s list at their perspective universities: Mark Lerner at Georgetown; Gary Lerner at Emory; Eric Lerner at Wharton School, U. of Pennsylvania. Members of Charlotte BBYO attended the Eastern Regioneil Convention (Redeigh, December). BBG placed first in “alma mater” and AZA won 1st place for T-shirt. Individual winners were Allison Kaufman for storytelling and Jacob Spil for oratory. • Word has been received from State of Israel Bonds office in Memphis, TN that Sol Kirschbaum recently passed away. Msiny of the community knew and worked with him on our annued Bond dinners. • Tracy Josephson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harold Josephson, a senior at Myers Park High School, has had five of her photographs selected for the current photographic show at Spirit Square. Two of her photographs were selected for the show’s highest award, the Merit of Excellence.
