Page 19-THE NEWS-May, 1986 Meichels By Norma Barach (JTA) Barbecue Beef Ribs As the weather turns warmer, we enter the barbecue season. A barbecue is most enjoyable when you invite friends to par ticipate. Barbecue ribs with roast com and potatoes — and some hot dogs as well — makes a fine barbecue menu, when served with a tossed salad. The com is roasted in its husks, which should be made wet and wrapped in foil before placing on the coals. Remember to marinate the ribs ahead of time. 8 lbs. beef ribs 2 tbisps. com oil cup soy sauce 2 cloves minced garlic Vi cup browD sugar 4 stalks scallions, chopped Pierce meat with fork. Combine sauce ingredients and marinate for 1 Vi hours, turning several times. Broil on grill and baste with sauce. Ribs should serve 8-10 people.
