Page 11-CJN SUPPLEMENT-May. 1986 JCC Votes “Yes” With no dissenting votes, the JCC membership at its April 25 annual meeting em powered its board to finalize and sign the Joint Venture Agreements. This historic referendum made the Center the first of the five institutions to official ly enter the project. On May 16 the Beth El annual membership meeting will con sider a similar approving vote. {At press time, on April 28, the Hebrew Academy signed the Joint Venture Agreements.) Bob Abel was £uded in answering some questions by Mark Bernstein, who authored the Joint Venture and Lease Agreements in conjunction with the Presidents’ Council and Harry Swimmer, General Campaign Chairman. Harry explained that the goal for the project is $5.5 million. He con tinued on to say that $2.3 million had already been pledged from approximately 40 families. Swimmer con tinued on to say that he has begun forming his Campaign Cabinet and that he hopes to have the campaign completed in three to four months. Tempte Beth Ei O.K. *s Agreement On May 16 Temple Beth El held their annual congrega tional meeting and at the same time emplowered its board to finalize and sign the Joint Venture Agreement for the Foundation of the Jewish Community. As of press time this makes three of the par ticipating institutions going in on the venture. Blumenthal HaU broke into applause. The membership of Temple Israel had just approved the Joint Venture Agreements and agreed to full participant status in the community Project. With this vote, all of the par ticipating institutions have now indicated acceptance of their participation in the Project.
