The Chanukah spirit filled the hearts of the children as they celebrated the holiday with many activities. The children made Cha nukah surprises for their families, including the wrap ping paper and cards. They made menorahs of all kinds, including some edible ones. Everyone enjoyed learning and singing Chanukah songs. The Pre-K class enjoyed a special morning with Joan Johnson who helped to wel come in the festive holiday mood by baking rugelach with the class. They also cut and decorated their very own dreidles. On December 7, all the children participated in the Chanukah Craft Party. The children created “dreidle people and suncatchers,” Chanukah necklaces, door hangers and mobiles. They played a few rounds of “Pin the Candle on the Menorah” and “Toss the Latke into the Frying Pan.” The culmination was a special Chanukah Shabbat program on December 9. Presented by the 4-year-old classes and the Pre-K class, the program was directed by Marlene Fuerstman, Special thanks goes to all the parents who volunteered their time in the classrooms and helped with the Craft Party.
