David is a staff pediatrician at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., with the Malcolm Grow Medical Center. He is a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and received his medical degree from UNC-CH. • Roberta (Mrs. Jack) Sosnik has been named “the most astute political observer” of the membership of the Joint Action Committee for Political Affairs. The Committee is a national organization of American women committed to the support of Israel. Eighteen months ago an issue of JAC’s newsletter included an “ofticial ballot” listing all the possible Congressional candidates known at that time and asked JAC members to predict the eventual winners in November 1988. Roberta picked the most correct candidates and final winners; her choices even surpassed those of the Research Director. Prize is attendance at the annual meeting in Washington at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, March 8-10. The conference will feature meetings with many incumbent and freshmen Senators, a panel on Black-Jewish relations and a special meeting with women members of Congress. • Rael Gorelick, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gorelick, was selected to attend The Governor’s School by Charlotte Country Day. • Scott Shapiro, son of Dr. and Mrs. Marvin Shapiro, has been accepted into the National Honor Society at Charlotte Country Day. • Matthew Kodsi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kodsi, was inducted into UNC-Chapel Hill’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
