Members of the North and South Carolina State Asso ciations met on February 25- 26 for a Leadership Develop ment Weekend. Held at the Pinehurst Hotel and Coun try Club, the weekend pro vided an opportunity for local and state leaders to socialize, leam new skills and more about the role and structure of B’nai B’rith. The workshop, the first held since 1985, was spon sored by the North Carolina State Association. The focus of the weekend was to pro vide an overview of skills that could be applied in both a business environment and in performing volunteer work for B’nai B’rith. Twenty-one people were in attendance, representing eight lodges in the Caroli- nas. Representing the Char lotte lodge were Jim Mea dow, Scott Gorelick, Scott Menaker, Frank Rosen and Ken Stem. Dr. Henry Ray Wengrow, District Five president, pro vided some common sense ideas on how to be a more effective manager and dele gator. Frank Rosen, District Five Leadership chairman, led “The Three Sons,” an interactive ses sion in which group members must decide which of three surviving Jewish sons is worthy of inheriting a “fortune.” North Carolina Hillel Directors Rabbi Frank Fischer and Ken Eisenberg presented a session on the presence of Hillel in N.C. A session on Time Manage ment was presented by Ken Stem.
