Mike Van Glish Appointed JCC Prexy
Barry Hantman, execu
tive director of the Jewish
community Center, is
pleased to announce that
Mike Van Glish has been
appointed the next president
of the JCC. Mike succeeds
Larry Gerber, who has
served as president of the
JCC for the past two years.
Prior to becoming presi
dent, Mike served on the
Executive Committee of the
JCC as treasurer. He has
been involved at the JCC for
the last six years, dating
back to his days as a member
of the Health and Physical
Education committee. Mike
has a genuine love for the
sport of tennis.
When asked recently what
his aspirations are as pres
ident of the Jewish Com
munity Center, Mike stated,
“I have two main objectives.
The first is my hope that the
JCC will work closely to
gether and more coopera
tively with other Jewish
organizations regarding^
joint programs. The Jewish
community in Charlotte is
small and very close-knit
and we all can benefit great
ly from more joint ventures,
especially around the holi
days. My second aim is that
we continue to attract new
members and encourage ex
isting members to become
Mike Van GUsh
more “regular” users of the
J. This is one of the finest
facilities in the community
with programs for all ages
and all walks of Ufe. I don’t
know where else you can go
where needs for all family
members can be met. I am
very proud to be part of such
a fine institution.”
Mike and his wife Judie
have two children, David
and Missy. They have re
sided in Charloitte for the
past 12 years.
Below is the list of the
incoming Officers and
Board of Directors of the
Jewish Community Center.
A hearty congratulations to
all.
