The lecturer is Dr. Dena Shenk, coordinator of the UNCC Gerontology Pro gram and Professor of Anthro pology, UNCC. Guests must bring a dairy lunch. Dr, Dena Shenk will discuss her extensive research with older women in central Minnesota. Her focus is on the expectations of elders and their views of formal and informal approaches to meeting their needs. There will be discussion about the MATCHMAKER elders’ interactions with family, friends and neighbors in relation to their use of formal services. Emphasis will be placed on implications for service delivery in our region. The second discussion, “Ar thritis: Fact and Fiction,” will be held on Mon., Feb, 24, 11 a,m.- noon in the Luski Youth Activ ity Center at Shalom Park. Lecturer is Dr, David A, Burack. Dr. Burack will try to enlight en the group on arthritis, a disease that strikes young and old, that is treatable but not curable. He is a graduate of Duke University and Vanderbilt University Medical School. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Rheumatol- Dr. David Burack ogy.
