From 1:00 - 2:30 p.m., enjoy an after noon of fun-filled, free activities, planned around childhood classics including The Very Hungry Cater pillar, Curious George. Pet Show. The Rainbow Fish and Brown Bear. Brown Bear. Visit both school locations: 6619 Sardis Road for the one, two, and three-year-old programs, and 921 Jefferson Drive for the four- year-old program. The Open House provides an excellent op portunity to meet the teachers and see the classrooms. The Jewish Preschool on Sardis will begin accepting appli cations for new preschoolers on January 15. Time Raffle Winner Announced When the clock stopped, Ellen Burnette, grandmother of Samuel Ehrlich, was $1,000 richer and The Jewish Day School of Charlotte had raised $4,000! Ellen was one of many who supported The Jew ish Day School of Charlotte dur ing our October “Every Second Counts” time raffle. The Jewish Day School Of Charlotte Holds Open House \ The Jewish Day School X)f Charlotte held an Open House on^ November 16th for current and prospective students and their families. The school currently has an enrollment of 60 students in grades K - 5, The program began with Katy Basch and Jennifer White’s first and second graders who enter tained the audience with their ren dition of “Them Bones”. They sang and performed a skit show ing off their Hebrew vocabulary too! Mariashi Groner, Director of the Day School, introduced the staff and allowed each teacher to share examples of the curriculum, both secular and Judaic, for their grades. Following the program, classrooms were open for visita tion. Dreidels With Dad On November 30th, preschoolers celebrated Chanukah in a special way. The program, called “Dreidels with Dad,” gave fathers and other loved ones a chance to participate in some spe cial Chanukah crafts and activities with their children. Dads had an opportunity to play dreidel, make menorah pictures, decorate cook ies and spend some time playing in their child’s classroom. It was quite an exciting day for all! Upc Symbol Collection Underway The Jewish Day School of Charlotte is participating in a fundraiser that won’t cost anyone a penny! The school is collecting UPC symbols from General Mills cereals until June, 1995. For ev ery UPC symbol collected, the school receives 250. As an added incentive, an additional $100 will be awarded for every 1,000 UPC symbols collected. Our goal is to collect 6,000 UPC symbols which translates into over $2,000 for the school. Please join us in our ef fort to raise funds. Clip your UPC symbols and send them to the school at 6619 Sardis Road.
