The Royal Academy of Danc ing is an international oi;ganization * whose aim is to provide the teach ers of Classical Ballet with a framework upon which to struc ture their classes with regular ex ams through the Grades Syllabus. The natural delight in danc ing is combined with knowledge and self-discipline gained by the study of Classical Ballet. Annual examinations are not com pulsory. Nevertheless, they are an invaluable yardstick by which par ents and teachers can measure the student’s progress and level of achievement. Above all, the Grades Syllabus is designed to be enjoyed. It should bring pleasure as well as a sense of achievement to the student who progresses from one grade to the next. JCC Early Childhood Department By Sally Williams The Early Childhood Department offers many pre-school enrich ment classes. One of our more successful classes was “Mom & Tot Art” for children two years old. This class encouraged young children to explore the world of art and to expand their imaginations with the help of their Moms. Liz Mann did a wonderful job teaching the children new ways of being creative. This class will be repeated at a later date. Call Sally Williams for more information and check the J-Update for a listing of the pre-school enrichment classes offered.
